Part 9 of his continuing series on Prosecutorial Misconduct and Police Corruption in Drug Cases Across America. Camden, New Jersey. Tough times in a tough town. A Day in the Life in Camden August 2, 2008 was a typical summer day in Camden, New Jersey, a gritty, impoverished, mostly black community across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. "I don't know if there's drugs in that house. "That bag's not mine," a desperate Barnes repeatedly protested. Payback Time
Plasma Weapons and Research - Inventions That Control Plasma When English physicist William Crookes first discovered plasma in 1879, he did not propose any use for the stuff. Crookes found that he could make gas behave differently than other forms of matter by stripping electrons from it with electrodes. What we now call plasma is used in arc-welding torches, neon signs and high-end television screens. Scientists are still finding novel ways to manipulate plasma. For example, Jamey Jacob, an aerospace engineer from Oklahoma State University, has replaced mechanical parts on the wings of aircraft with arrays of tiny actuators. 3 Research Projects that Aim to Control Plasma · WHAT: Heat Shield · WHO: EADS Astrium · HOW IT WORKS: A magnetic field can influence the hot, ionized gas that envelops a spacecraft during atmospheric re-entry. · WHAT: Emergency Fire Extinguisher · WHO: DARPA · HOW IT WORKS: Flames are a form of partially ionized plasma and can be manipulated with electric fields.

Lucas Ainsworth Design The Complete Guide to Every Single Doctor Who Anniversary Special Ever I was more talking about how Shalka was supposed to lead to an animated continuation of the show, which fairly obviously did wither away to nothing. And really, it's not all that unfair in the general sense either — the novelization is out-of-print, which admittedly is true of pretty much the entire range, but its Amazon page doesn't even have a proper image, which seems a tad depressing. As for the webcast, it's pretty well-hidden on the website — only a couple clicks, but they're not super obvious — and I can't actually get the webcast to play, and I'm pretty sure because the coding for the page is pretty hopelessly out-of-date. Let's really complicate things. It's crazy how many versions of Shada are out there. That, of course, is but one of many equally valid interpretations. I don't think I've seen the Special Edition.
Welcome Since it first went online in 1998, Drug War Facts provides reliable information with applicable citations on important public health and criminal justice issues. It is updated continuously by its current Editor, Doug McVay. Most charts, facts and figures are from government sources, government-sponsored sources, peer reviewed journals and occasionally newspapers. In all cases the source is cited so that journalists, scholars and students can verify, check context and obtain additional information. Our mission is to offer useful facts, cited from authoritative sources, to a debate that is often characterized by myths, error, emotion and dissembling. We believe that in time an informed society will correct its errors and generate wiser policies. Drug War Facts is sponsored by Common Sense for Drug Policy. To the extent of its copyrights, Common Sense for Drug Policy authorizes and encourages the use and republication of some or all portions of this book. Click here for a list of chapters.
Experienced Potheads Show No Change In Task Performance | I Love Weed If you’re going to smoke pot, for goodness’ sakes, smoke it every day, man. Experienced marijuana consumers show virtually no changes in cognitive performance after using cannabis, according to clinical trial data published online this week in the journal Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior. Investigators at Columbia University in New York and San Francisco Brain Research Institute assessed acute marijuana-related effects on cognitive functioning in 24 volunteers who reported consuming cannabis at least 24 times per week, reports NORML. Scientists found that participants’ overall performance accuracy on episodic memory and working memory tasks “was not significantly altered by marijuana.” “The present findings show that smoked marijuana produced minimal effects on episodic and spatial working memory of near-daily smokers,” the researchers concluded.
