DIY Wrap Bracelet You should all know by now that we are all about stacking bracelets on our wrists. The more, the better. In fact . . . the most, the best! You’ll need (for a double wrapped bracelet) :* Lengths will vary depending on the size of your wrist (see comments for suggestions). Fold the length of leather cording in half to form a loop. Place the ball chain along the leather cording with the end of the chain meeting the end of the wrap. Continue wrapping while checking it for fit around the wrist. When you have reached the end of the ball chain wrap the linen cording around the leather strands 2-3 more times. Thread the hex nut through the strands and tie a second knot. Trim with scissors and your wrap bracelet is finished!! The materials are listed for a double wrap bracelet. It’s a party! To make it you just need to find some wood strips, sand them, paint or stain them and fasten together with the staples and nails. Yellow Heart Art The Girl Who Loves to Levitate (14 photos) Natsumi Hayashi is a sweet-looking Japanese girl who, one day, decided to take self-portraits..of herself levitating. She can be spotted in and around Tokyo, equipped with her SLR and her self-timer. When she feels the moment strike, she presses the shutter button down and then, quite literally, "jumps" into place. What I love most about her shots is that they don't feel forced. When I asked her how others react to her jumping around Tokyo, here is a funny story that she shared. "So I stopped jumping and apologized to them by saying, 'I am taking jumping photos for my wedding party's slide show.' "Then, I took one of the best levitation shots of the entire series." "We are all surrounded by social stress as we are bound by the forces of earth's gravity," Natsumi says when asked why she took on the series. Natsumi Hayashi's website

Kim Smith does BA Illustration The Art of Paul Kuczynski Take a look at some paintings by artist, Paul Kuczynski. More after the jump. A Smith of All Trades McLaughlin Designs | Create a Fashion Statement {knitting, photography, design} We are fully immersed in the “Do it Yourself Era.” The trend is fueled by nostalgia, this same nostalgia drives us back to fixie bikes, film cameras, and vinyls. My parents generation (the baby boomers) fled their roots to make a new life for themselves. They started businesses, created the current status quo for families (two kids, two cars, mid sized suburban home), and gave their children everything they didn’t have growing up. As a result the current generation of young people (20-30yr olds) and many others are trying to return to their roots and rediscover what makes things have emotional value. We can buy most things we want (made in China) for practically nothing, so we long for something more, something that will have emotional value. All of this rambling is the product of my experience as one who both creates and loves to teach. I recently got back into making jewelry. Amethyst Druzy Necklace Another option is to search for a druzy pendant and buy a chain separately. Etsy
