Spring! It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!~Mark Twain Science has never drummed up quite as effective a tranquilizing agent as a sunny spring day. ~W. April is a promise that May is bound to keep. Is it so small a thing To have enjoy'd the sun, To have lived light in the spring, To have loved, to have thought, to have done... An optimist is the human personification of spring. Sweet springtime is my time is your time is our time for springtime is love time and viva sweet love. A little Madness in the spring Is wholesome even for the King. Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today; And give us not to think so far away As the uncertain harvest; keep us here All simply in the springing of the year." All through the long winter, I dream of my garden. Every spring is the only spring, a perpetual astonishment. Spring has returned.

The Table That Talked Back Listen to your hands from Sanghyeok Lee on Vimeo. Last week, we marveled at the secret compartments tucked inside the Kai Table, a beautifully crafted wooden tabletop meant to inspire curiosity and exploration. Korean designer Lee Sanghyeok has created a similarly playful object called “Listen to Your Hands,” a table that investigates the sense of touch as the primary means of dialogue between human and object. A wooden desk with an asymmetrical stack of drawers defies the inertia of the typical table by responding to the actions of its human user: the push of one drawer results in the opening of another, and only a gentle closing of a drawer can keep all the others intact, suggesting that humans need to “act with intention.” The plea for responsible action aside, Lee’s mischievous table would be the perfect prop for a Marx Brothers slapstick routine. ora concept watch by alexandros stasinopoulos sep 29, 2009 'ora' concept watch by alexandros stasinopoulos greek designer alexandros stasinopoulos has sent us images of his latest concept watch ‘ora’. the ‘ora’ concept is a study on the field of haute horlogerie. it focuses on the display of time via an unconventional mode, by replacing the expected dial arrangement found in the vast majority of the mechanical watcheswith a set of three interwoven tapes – one to indicate the hour(s), one to indicate the minute(s), and one to indicate the day. the design of the case reflects an ‘inside-out’ design approach as it was the mechanism’s arrangement that prescribed the overall form in an attempt to enhance its uniqueness and create a distinctive silhouette. btw alex was a former design aerobics participant and designboom would like to congratulate him on his quality of work. if you would like to participate in our current courses check out the full list here ridhika naidoo I designboom
