Meaninglessness

Meaninglessness
MEANINGLESSNESS and EXISTENTIAL DEPRESSION "It is here that we encounter the central theme of existentialism: to live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffering." - Victor Frankl Talk about it: info@livereal.com What's the point? We all get up in the morning, go to bed in the evening, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep, and work, day after day after day, but . . . What's it all about? The Problem "Imagine a happy group of morons who are engaged in work. "To have a reason to get up in the morning, it is necessary to possess a guiding principle. Your LiveReal Agents are trying to figure it out . . . Many individuals view the issue of "meaninglessness" - asking "what's the point?" However, in the opinion of these illustrious LiveReal Editors, however, reality is just the opposite. It may well be a fact that life, at least at is is usually lived, actually is absurd when seen from a certain perspective. This includes many intelligent and perceptive individuals throughout history.

When a photograph is not just a photograph !! 47 Mind-Blowing Psychology-Proven Facts You Should Know About Yourself I’ve decided to start a series called 100 Things You Should Know about People. As in: 100 things you should know if you are going to design an effective and persuasive website, web application or software application. Or maybe just 100 things that everyone should know about humans! The order that I’ll present these 100 things is going to be pretty random. Dr. <div class="slide-intro-bottom"><a href=" Depression Quotes Depression is a prison where you are both the suffering prisoner and the cruel jailer. Mysteriously and in ways that are totally remote from normal experience, the gray drizzle of horror induced by depression takes on the quality of physical pain ... it is entirely natural that the victim begins to think ceaselessly of oblivion. During depression the world disappears ... because the inner voice is so urgent in its own discourse: How shall I live? How shall I manage the future? Why should I go on? My depression is the most faithful mistress I have known -- no wonder, then, that I return the love. Some authors have conceptualized depression as a "depletion syndrome" because of the prominence of fatigability; they postulate that the patient exhausts his available energy during the period prior to the onset of the depression and that the depressed state represents a kind of hibernation, during which the patient gradually builds up a new story of energy. Life Is Hell Why Life is Utter Hell Indulge in The Cold Hard Truth "One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious." - C. G. Jung Talk about it: info@livereal.com So, is life really "good," like everybody says? . . . or is is it really . . . utter, utter hell? In our daring pursuit of answers to the fundamental questions of the universe, your valiant LiveReal Agents have found themselves confronted by a few basic questions (is life good, or bad?) In heartily following these questions wherever they lead us, we have no option but to try to examine not only the bright side of life, but . . . well, the less bright side. Although life may be full of hard, cold, brutal facts . . . well, that will not keep us from doing our job. (Warning: This little section tends to have a somewhat dampening effect on unrealistically positive moods, and is best when used with precaution and taken in small doses.) (Editor's Note. Life is definitely not a bowl of cherries. ". . .

How to win Rock-paper-scissors every time I admit it. When I first heard there are actual tournaments for Rock-paper-scissors, sanctioned by the World Rock Paper Scissors Society, I laughed. I mean seriously, $50k to the winner of a game that requires no skill whatsoever? Absurd. Rock-paper-scissors isn't just a silly game kids play or a way to decide who has to be the designated driver at parties. Males have a tendency to throw rock on their first try, inexperienced RPS players will subconsciously deliver the item that won previously, and paper is thrown least often, so use it as a surprise. How the Brain Stops Time One of the strangest side-effects of intense fear is time dilation, the apparent slowing-down of time. It's a common trope in movies and TV shows, like the memorable scene from The Matrix in which time slows down so dramatically that bullets fired at the hero seem to move at a walking pace. In real life, our perceptions aren't keyed up quite that dramatically, but survivors of life-and-death situations often report that things seem to take longer to happen, objects fall more slowly, and they're capable of complex thoughts in what would normally be the blink of an eye. Now a research team from Israel reports that not only does time slow down, but that it slows down more for some than for others. An intriguing result, and one that raises a more fundamental question: how, exactly, does the brain carry out this remarkable feat? Researcher David Eagleman has tackled his very issue in a very clever way . Was it scary enough to generate a sense of time dilation?

Tao Te Ching (Tao) Lao Tzu Tao Te Ching The tao that can be toldis not the eternal TaoThe name that can be namedis not the eternal Name. The unnamable is the eternally real.Naming is the originof all particular things. Free from desire, you realize the mystery.Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations. Yet mystery and manifestationsarise from the same source. This source is called darkness. Darkness within darkness. The gateway to all understanding. When people see some things as beautiful, other things become ugly. When people see some things as good, other things become bad. Being and non-being create each other.Difficult and easy support each other.Long and short define each other.High and low depend on each other. Before and after follow each other. If you overesteem great men, people become powerless. If you overvalue possessions, people begin to steal. Practice not-doing,and everything will fall into place. It is hidden but always present.I don't know who gave birth to it.It is older than God. Next Section: Te

Grimm's Fairy Tales This book contains 209 tales collected by the brothers Grimm. The exact print source is unknown. The etext appears to be based on the translation by Margaret Hunt called Grimm's Household Tales, but it is not identical to her edition. (Some of the translations are slightly different, the arrangement also differs, and the Grimm's scholarly notes are not included.) The etext received by the Universal Library did not include story titles. Note that these tales are presented more or less as the Grimms collected and edited them (and as Hunt saw fit to translate them). NEW: There is now a more accurate version of the Hunt translation posted by William Barker.

Sound Matrix The Sound Matrix was a clever bit of flash that was mailed to me some time back. I later discovered that the file was originally composed by Andre Michelle.
