Tout à savoir sur la géolocalisation par satellite (GPS) et sur la localisation GPRS Le GPS (Global Positioning System) a été créé dans les années 70, le système repose sur un réseau de satellites qui émettent des signaux radio. Un utilisateur peut déterminer sa position à partir de la position connue de plusieurs satellites. Un récepteur synchronisé peut alors mesurer le temps de propagation de ce signal et en déduire la distance le séparant du satellite. A partir de 3 satellites, un tel récepteur est capable d'effectuer une triangulation pour déterminer sa position. Qu'est-ce que le GPRS ? Le GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) est une norme de transfert de données adaptée aux réseaux mobiles. Elle permet de transformer le réseau GSM (Global Service for Mobile Communications) actuel, orienté connexion, en réseau à commutation de paquets.
