CARDBOARD ANIMAL HEADS | Paper Deer, Moose, Elephant LuisRodrigalvarez After working as a designer for several design firms, manufacturers, and advertising companies in Madrid, Spain, Luis followed his wife to Charlottesville, Virginia and landed at Cardboard Safari as head designer. The quick success of his first design, a cardboard deer trophy, emboldened them to make more fun stuff. When not designing Luis loves to cook and share his recipes with family and friends. Luis was inspired to become an artist after working and consulting for the Spanish sculptor Juan Muñoz. When starting a new design he considers the material or the tool as these define the possibilities and limitations.
Building a Firepit... Sometimes an idea seems like it is a little easier than it actually is... This is the yard before... The muddy corner where nothing will grow because it is all shade and our two dogs run through it all day. Meet the culprits: Clearly something had to be done! Step #1: Mark off the space and lay a border... Step #2: Decide where you want to put the fire pit. We used Nicolock Pavers. A circle will require 15 stones. We started with the first layer, working diligently to make it level... Then we added the next 3 levels, using construction adhesive to glue down each block to the layer below. Step #3: Spray weed killer and cover the ground with a black weed barrier... I did this part... check out the pink work gloves... Step #4: Start hauling wheelbarrow-full after wheelbarrow-full of pea gravel from the front driveway to the back yard. Some where about now we were thinking about calling in some help... As you can see I was all about the decorating... After all, someone needed to be the "idea guy"... Step #5:

DIY Grocery Bag Easter Basket | What to do with all those grocery bags tucked under my sink?! I find that there is something quite endearing about brown kraft grocery bags and the up-cycling piece of my brain has been dancing around ideas for a while. I have been seeing a few variations of woven paper baskets around the web, so weaving and Easter basket from recycled paper bags seem to be a perfect solution! (INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROCERY BAG EASTER BASKET) 1) Using full size paper grocery bag, remove handles (•note some do not come with handles) and cut down center seam. 2) Mark 1.75 inch strips (top to bottom) and trim. 3) Fold each strip lengthwise into thirds. 4) 2 of your strips will create a handle. 5) Weave the bottom of the basket using 6X6 strips. 6) Trim 2 of your strips in half. 7) Fold the loose side strips of your basket to prepare them for weaving in the 3 long strips. 8) On 2 opposite sides of the basket, trim the 2 center strips 3 inches long. How To Make Round Paper Beads | Paper Beads & Jewelry I get emails from paper bead enthusiasts on how to achieve a more round paper beads. So, here it is a vlog I think would explain it best plus a few photos. Materials are: metal roller or bamboo roller (either one can be purchased at aubreysbeads ), Judikin’s Diamond Glaze but you can also use any decoupage medium or mod podge and glossy magazines or catalogs. Next step is then to mark both ends, how wide is the base of the triangle determines how big or how wide is your bead. Here is a close up of one end of the paper. I used the rollers that we carry in our online shop, but of course you can use whatever you have available, to achieve a smaller hole these tools are great for that. Here is the video Some samples of finished round beads I hope you have fun, I welcome any comments, questions, feedback…….

Watch Anime Online | English Dubbed / Subbed Episodes Fancy Paper Easter Egg Boxes I’ve had a great deal of fun playing with some paper mache eggs I bought at a craft store. I made them in to little fill-able egg containers. They remind me of those old Victorian eggs you see now and then. Here’s how I made them: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Decorate the outside of your eggs with paint or paper. This one I painted and then splattered other colors over the top before decorating with ribbon and trims. This little bunny came from pages rescued from a children’s book. The white bunnies came from the same children’s book.
PB knock-off angel wings What follows is my first ever tutorial. It is very image intensive and possibly difficult to decipher. I apologize in advance. Happy DIYing!! Tutorial after the jump! I totally love this oversized carved angel wing from Pottery Barn. I found this PB inspired knock off here, but there was no tutorial. I was working without a map, since there were no size specs, nor any materials listed. That's right. First, I freehanded a wing shape on a refrigerator box using a Sharpie. I then drew a rough image of the feather pattern with my Sharpie so I would know how the feathers should look as I taped them on. Next, I needed some cardboard feathers. I used scissors to cut them all out, as an Xacto knife goes dull after only a few cuts. Now, I began at the bottom taping on the longer cardboard feathers, but I didn't get pictures of that, so you'll have to bear with me. I began on the outside edge of the wing and layered them inward so that the inside edge of the wings would be thickest. Cheers!

I’ve been itching to make some new luminaries, something that would be elegant and pretty against winter’s white snow. Something that says Christmas, but isn’t limited to the holiday. UPDATE: Please see my article on crafting with epsom salts for important information (including info on discoloration, see the picture below of them all white), especially if you plan to make these for an important event such as a wedding. The moisture in the salt will eventually evaporate, leaving you with white salt on your jars. These should be one of the last things you make, no more than a week before the wedding. Recently I saw some really pretty sea glass luminaries in white, light blue and light green. To get the effect, I made a little video for you. Note about jars: You can use any type of jar you want for these. Many people have asked me what type of salts that I used.
