OVERFLOW BATHTUBS

OVERFLOW BATHTUBS

TetraBox Light by Ed Chew Liquid to Light Designer Ed Chew takes a green step in the right direction with the TetraBox lamp, a light object made from discarded drink packets that would have otherwise ended up in landfills already packed to the brim. The design is achieved by unfolding the packets and refolding them into hexagonal and pentagonal sections that are then pieced together to form a geodesic sphere or any other desired shape. Here, the Epcot-like ball makes an attractive overhead light and casts an impressive web of shadows and shapes on the surrounding space. Designer: Ed Chew Fridge concept on Industrial Design Served Fridge concept Outside surface of the fridge looks like compositionwith right and clear geometry. There is light on the doors, that also showswhen the fridge is on. When the door is open light is switching on and off.In this project all elements have new places. Thefirst new thing is an inclined triangle shelf for comfortable keeping the bottlesthere. In this way cellar can be created, or it can be just a place for juice. The next new thing is a movable shelf. Such systemhelps to solve some problems and use the fridge in a more comfortable manner. You can move the shelf and take what you want ( for comfort there are specialholes for fingers)One more interesting thing is a shelf with changingheight.

Tutorial: How to make a Fabric Headboard In my master bedroom, I wanted an extra large headboard that would make a statement. Here are my instructions on how to make a fabric headboard…not just any fabric headboard...you’ll see. Step 1: Find fabric that you love! I found this fabric at my favorite fabric store called Home Fabrics and Rugs. Step 2: Measure your space. Go big or go home right!?!? Step 3: Divide your space into squares. Step 4: Buy 2 sheets of thin backer board and cut them PRECISELY the right size. Step 5: Buy some foam and cut it into precisely the right size. Step 6: Cut the fabric. Step 7: Upholster every square. I’m not going to lie, this part was very frustrating. We had to HOT GLUE to fabric onto the boards and then the staples would go through. We also made pencil marks on the back sides of the boards to use as guides of how far to pull the fabric. Step 8. Step 9: Lay out your squares and decide on their position. Step 10. UPDATE (May 19) I wanted to answer some of your questions about the mounting process.

One Glass for Every Drink by Sven MILCENT & Utopik Design Lab &... - StumbleUpon One Perfect Cup The Utopik Design Lab have done it! They’ve taken our entire collected evolution of cup-making and holding of drink history and combined it into one cup. This isn’t the first interchangeable base cup we’ve had here on Yanko, and it wont be the last. And while we’re at it, I’ve got to say that my favorite drink glass in the world must be the snifter – looked after here closely by that cognac glass on it’s side. Designer: Utopik Design Lab 30 of the Most Creative Bookshelves Designs At Freshome, we try to find things to inspire you and make your home a better place to live. You can find all kinds of stories here, such as beautiful pieces of furniture, ideas for decorating your home, architecture news, home gadgets, tips and tricks for improving your home, and much more. Here is a collection of the best bookshelves we posted during the past year. The Equation Bookshelf, designed by Marcos Breder, uses the simple idea of organizing objects in a certain order. These Folding Bookshelves are really innovative and practical; they let you arrange the books in an interesting way, as you can see from these pictures. This multiple-sized shelf design called the Quad Bookcase can store your CDs, DVDs and books all in one clever product. Da-Eun Song designed this shelf that spells out “shelf.” This design might look cool, but I don’t think you could stay too relaxed in that space, I’d rather sit in a comfortable chair. This interesting shelf is called Bookworm.

Lofted Space-Saving Furniture for Bedroom Interiors Tumidei is more than just a furniture company – they construct modern and relatively inexpensive (no, not cheap) pieces of furniture that they also create compositions from – interior design photos that you can use to shape your own space. These lofted bedroom interiors are brilliantly varied and are great space-saving solutions for cramped bedrooms. A lot of these lofted interiors are clearly designed for children and teens in terms of sizes, colors and material quality. There is nothing to say that adults could not use this furniture as well and there are certainly more ways to put these sets together than are suggested by these photographs, but they do provide some ways in which you could coordinate colors, materials and forms to create a composite design that looks planned and organized ahead of time.

Temperature-Sensitive Glass Product Details Color-changing dyes and additives have been offered in paper, plastic, and textiles for some time, but this product takes the idea into a new area: glass tiles. Offered in a range of colors and sensitivities, the tiles change color based on ambient temperature, body temperature, or water temperature. The textured glass surface layer protects and highlights the color-change film on the tile. The base color of the tile can match almost any color, and the temperature change point can be fit to the user’s environment and requirements. The tiles come in six standard lines.

X-Ray Kitchen: Custom Cabinets with Built-In Back-Lighting New to a kitchen and not sure where to locate which dishes? No worries: this clever custom kitchen cabinet system will light your way to the right serving bowls, plates, utensils and gadgets, showing their forms as shadows directly on the doors of these cabinets. Ever the hybrid architect, artist and minimalist designer, Jean Nouvel has accomplished a great deal with this design idea – the find-anything functionality of see-through cabinetry, the animated and ever-changing artistry of light and dark shapes and the naturally and of course the built-in lighting itself that can illuminate the kitchen background while you cook. The components are surprisingly simple, cheap and low-tech considering the complex effects: standard translucent white panels and aluminum hinges on the cabinets combined with conventional lamps along the back wall behind the objects they store.

FlexibleLove - the extraordinary expanding chair It’s a little embarrassing when a crowd of friends descend on your doorstep and you don’t have enough chairs to seat them all. However, if you have a FlexibleLove chair - you won’t have anything to worry about. This fabulously functional chair = is constructed almost entirely from recycled cardboard and recycled wood waste and can expand to hold up to16 people! Read on, you’ll be amazed at what this single piece of furniture can do… At first glance, the design of the FlexibleLove chair seems quite simple, but once you see how quickly and easily it can be expanded and contracted, you really appreciate the complexity of its design. The unique qualities of its accordion and honeycomb structure allow it to be stretched and folded into a multitude of shapes and lengths - creating surprisingly strong seating. How does cardboard manage to hold the weight of up to 16 people? The FlexibleLove was designed by Chise Chiu, a young designer from Taiwan. Via noquedanblogs and LikeCool
