Abstract: In this paper we trace the evolution of a project using a wiki-based learning environment in a tertiary education setting. Exchange and collaborate about this talk M. Abstract: With few exceptions, currently published research on the educational use of wikis does not include how the learning activities should be “shaped, planned or enforced” in a wiki. Exchange and collaborate about this talk U. Abstract: While measurements of wiki usage typically focus on the active contribution of content, information on the passive use of existing content can be valuable for a range of commercial and research purposes. Meeting these needs requires detailed knowledge of user behavior, such as the duration for which a page was read and the sections visible at each point. Exchange and collaborate about this talk A. Abstract: Writing a book from which others can learn is itself a powerful learning experience. Exchange and collaborate about this talk R. D. S. J. J. R. J.

Inquiry & Problem Solving in the Classroom Office 2.0 2006 Conference - Conference Any.do Virtual Education Conferences We all know about conferences, don’t we? You fly or drive out of town and stay in a large hotel for a couple of days, eating complimentary continental breakfasts and ambling from room to identical room in search of a few fresh angles on your profession and its challenges. Conferences can be a standard part of the job for a fair percentage of educators and administrators, but some people tend to find themselves in the unfortunate position of missing a conference, workshop or other sort of professional development event for lack of available funding or enough time away from work to allow for travel. Those days, though, may be over. The same kinds of educational technologies that contribute to enhanced learning in virtual classrooms all over the world are being used to make educational conferences more accessible to the educators and administrators that they benefit the most. How virtual conferences work Advantages of the virtual conference But are they right for you ? Print This Post

Parip/Practice as Research in Performance International Conference | 29 June - 03 July 2005 Selvin: Al | UK/USA PARIP 2005 single-session workshop abstract Making Knowledge Art: Learning from the Improvisatory Dynamics of Live Participatory Hypermedia Construction For the past three years, we have been attempting to apply an aesthetic lens to a digital media practice more usually associated with other research discourses, such as group support systems and computer-supported cooperative work. This three-hour workshop will explore the improvisatory dynamics of practitioner actions in the construction and modification of hypermedia knowledge representations in live settings with groups. A goal of the workshop will be to help us answer the following research questions: in what sense(s) can the practice of this type of digital media in the settings we are analyzing be characterized as "performance," and the work of the practitioner be usefully analyzed in aesthetic and ethical terms?
