2. 3. 4. Goede KPI’s Een goed dashboard Welke tools zijn handig?
Get pretty much anything done by awesome people :zenhabits Firefox Panorama: Tab Candy Evolved I am happy to announce that Tab Candy is coming to Firefox 4. Starting today, Tab Candy will be called Firefox Panorama and be available as a feature in Firefox betas. Head to the Firefox 4 feature list, or watch the video below, to learn how to organize your tabs into groups and reclaim your browsing experience from clutter and information overload. Like many innovations, the ideas behind Panorama are a mashup of previous work. While there are many directions still left to explore (some of which are covered in the Tab Candy announcement video), there is a strong set of design principle that have and will continue to guide development. It took 7 months to go from sketches to inclusion in Firefox. If you want to delve deeper into the inspiration, go back to mid-2008. Within the concept of “organizing your online tasks” is a lot room for paradigms, metaphors, and features. Harness the power of spatial memory. Seeing is remembering. Minimize required interactivity. Axe Cop Animix - Animix #9 - Haruko Haruhara (FLCL) WhyItIsTerrible Globa: Accelerating technologies will create a global state by 2050 This essay argues that the exponential rate of technical progress will create within 40 years an Internet that is a trillion times faster than today’s, a global media, a global education system, a global language, and a globally homogenized culture, thus establishing the prerequisites for the creation of a global democratic state, “Globa,” and ridding the world of war, the arms trade, ignorance, and poverty. Whether Globa can cope with the rise of massively intelligent machines occurring at about the same time is far less certain. Most readers will have heard of the phenomenon called “Moore’s Law” (i.e., the trend that the number of transistors that can be crammed onto a chip keeps doubling every 18 months). Less well known is the phenomenon I label “BRAD” (Bit Rate Annual Doubling), i.e., the speed of the Internet keeps doubling every 12 months. [Both of these are examples of Ray Kurzweil's law of accelerating returns. - Ed.] What could one do with such fantastic speeds? Global Politics
Man Uses Droid to Fight Speeding Ticket, Wins Who said using your phone while driving is a bad idea? Google once again saves the day thanks to the MyTracks app for Android phones. From the product page: "My Tracks is an application for your AndroidTM phone that enables you to record GPS tracks and view live statistics – such as time, speed, distance, and elevation – while hiking, biking, running or participating in other outdoor activities. Once recorded, you can share your tracks, upload them to Google Spreadsheets and visualize them on Google My Maps." Sahas Katta of California was accused of driving over 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. After taking his evidence to the court in Yolo County, California, Katta presented the judge with his cellphone and cross examined the officer on his radar training and calibration. According to Cnet, a similar case occurred in Ohio where one man attempted to prove with his GPS records that he didn't exceed the 65 mph maximum speed limit after being accused of driving at 84 mph.
