7 steps to creativity - how to have ideas A guest post by Simon Townley of WriteMindset As a writer, having ideas is one of the most important parts of your craft. But often it seems like one of the most difficult and challenging parts of the whole process. How do you keep ideas flowing? How do you create a wealth of ideas to choose from? How do you make sure you get to the one killer idea that will make your advert, novel, article or blog post really stand out from the rest? Some people like to wait for inspiration to strike. Luckily, there is a formula for producing ideas on a consistent basis. But if you need to produce strong and creative ideas regularly as part of your writing career, then it pays to know the formula, and how to use it. First of all, what is an idea? “An idea is nothing more nor less than a new combination of old elements.” So how do you combine old elements into new? “The capacity to bring old elements into new combinations depends largely on the ability to see relationships.” How do you cultivate it?
Ironic Situation Let me preface this post by saying that I enjoy a clean headshot as much as the next guy. And I’m not suggesting that violent content should be removed from video games either. In fact, I’m a proponent the belief that giving people the ability to act out this sort of behavior in a fantasy environment decreases the chance of acting it out in reality. [1] What I’m saying is that I don’t see the logic behind an illegal behavior being considered more acceptable than one that isn’t. I understand that a lot of these laws ideas spring less from logic and more from environmental influences. But that doesn’t mean it makes any more sense. An with that I leave this diatribe vague.
Funfetti Cupcake Pops! — CookTeen CookTeen Anyone who knows me, knows that I am cookoo for cake pops, and how cute are these cupcake pops! Usually, I make them with red velvet cake but this time, in honor of my friend and neighbor, Elysa’s 12th Birthday–I made them using Funfetti Cake Mix, yum! Ok, to get started, bake the cake per package instructions in a 13 9 x 2 inch pan, cool completely (I like to bake the cake the day before), crumble cooled cake into a bowl and add 3/4 of a container of store bought cream cheese frosting. The mixture should look like this…. Once you mix in the frosting… add a handful or so of sprinkles for extra yumminess. using this cookie cutter as a guide for size… Roll all the dough into balls and freeze for 15 minutes then roll the balls into log shapes and freeze again for 15 minutes… form cupcake shape by pressing log into cookie cutter and smooshing it all the way down and form crown-like top..no other way I can say it…hope the pictures say it better then I?
