Cable Braided Necklace

Cable Braided Necklace
Yesterday, I have been deep in thought while sizing a pattern, deadlines all looming and sooo much to do before the year's end. I have thought to share a great little technique with you. Something last minute that you can make for either a gift of for yourself! So here is what you would need: Time: 1.5-2hr (excluding drying time). 15-20 grams of Fingering or Sport weight yarn. Needle: US 4 (3.5 mm) Crochet hook C or D. Gauge: 6 sts and 7-8 rows in 1" over Stockinette stitch swatch Cabled Braids are made up by knitting 2 strips. 1st strip: Using needle and yarn CO 9 sts. 2nd strip: Using needle and yarn CO 9 sts. On next row (RS): K4, yo, k2tog, k3. If you wish to make strips longer - repeat the sequence from *. Wash your strips, make sure to use wool wash to help and fluff those fibers. Then follow the photo guide to braid your necklace or bracelet or headband. Insert the longer end of a strip into the first yarn over of the shorter end strip. The view from down under. Or a nifty bracelet ..

Crazy #2 here! And THIS is what I made today and what I'll be sharing with you! So.... as a super girlie girl, I LOVE all things feminine. Interior design, jewelry, fashion, PINK and oh my stars... you should see my shoe closet (I think I lost count at 100 pairs...not kidding). So, needless to say, when it comes to any kind of fashion accessory, I'm always a sucker. And decided to take a stab at crocheting. Looks pretty pro eh? Now, the first time I watched her video, I followed it exactly because I was still learning the basics of which stitches made what shapes. Sure, the small flower might be cuter for a baby or something, but for me, it's just way too super teenie weenie! If you follow the rest of her pattern, yours will turn out similar to mine. The yarn I used, I just bought it at Wal*Mart and was less than $2 for the ball. To finish the project, you'll also need and embroidery needle to stitch the slinky flower together. Expense breakdown: Total start up cost:

how to crochet a daisy chain necklace My mum described this thing she had seen on someone else, part necklace, part scarf, like a bunch of flowers for your neck and I was really taken with this idea of floral jewels. So after a bit of experimentation I came up with this design. It is simple to make with basic crochet stitches, and could have endless variations both in terms of the yarns and flower styles used to make it but also in the way it is worn. Materials * Yarn – I used Rowan Glace cotton in six different colours, a total of 33 gms. Method As I am an aussie I will use Australian/European stitch terminology, but since I learnt to crochet using American patterns, I’ll explain equivalents. Make the flowers first. Make a slip knot and chain 4. Insert the hook into the fist chain and slip stitch to form a ring. Round 1 - 10 double crochet into the ring: insert the hook through the middle of the ring, put the yarn over the hook and pull the yarn through the ring, leaving two loops on the hook. Put the yarn over the hook again

Chunky Agate and Chain Bracelet | Loose Ends I was inspired to make these bracelets by some of these pins on Pinterest. I love the contrast of the big chain with the colored stones. Not to mention, they are pretty simple to make. Supplies:Dyed Agate Slices (ST5596-*) Large Curb Chain (56CX1852) 3 Sizes Jump Rings (FI208-TG, 8FI222-2G, 12FI208-G) Large Lobster Claw (31FI647-G) Steps: 1) Cut chain into 2 3 inch sections. (8 or 9 links depending on the size of the stone.) 2) Attach agate to the chain with the 8mm jump ring. 3) Attach the clasp to the chain with the 6mm jump ring. 4) Attach the 12mm jump ring to the other side of the chain, opposite the clasp, using the 6mm jump ring. You don’t really need to use three sizes of jump rings. Check out these link parties!

Knitting Crochet Sewing Crafts Patterns and Ideas! Tableau pratique pour tricoter des tuques Dainty Abstract Flower Earrings Inspired by the Prada runway SP2013 RTW looks, my earrings combine the artistic patterns of Asia, the colors, and abstracted flowers. Miuccia Prada quotes her inspiration for the collection was a merge of "Japanese (style)...and the Sixties" which I thought made for a really cool combination! Here is the more wearable version, in earring form. You don't have to use the same exact beads here as I did, you can use whatever you have lying around, just make sure the center bead is a disc bead for variety. Step 1: Gather materials. *mm stands for millimeter. You can alter which beads you want to use, if you don't have the exact ones I used. Pliers were courtesy of Cousin Beads! Step 1: Cut about a 3" piece of wire or so, and make a small loop at top, about 3/4" away from the end, wrapping the excess wire to close. Step 2: Add on your smaller 4mm bead. Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2, but using your larger 6mm bead. Thread on the smaller 4mm bead's loop through the unopened loop.
