I tried to photograph something quickly before the sun went down, but since the project wasn't quite finished I think I'll share it with you in its entirety tomorrow. In the mean time I realized there may have been some projects that I did last year and hadn't shared, and yes, sure enough, I now present to you my quick soda bottle clown craft! Yes it is true, we have made soda bottle clowns in the past, or rather my daughter made soda bottle clown gift boxes, that were recycled. This one contains the drink that comes in the bottle, and since we don't buy or drink that stuff, I had to quickly craft with it to get it out of the house, clever me!

J'ai pris un crochet n°2,5 et un fil de coton écru. On fait une chaînette de 30 m., puis 70 rgs en mailles serrées. On monte une fermeture éclair (de 10 cm) aux 2 extrémités puis on coud les 2 côtés ensemble. J'ai ajouté une doublure en tissu de coton en cousant à la machine les 2 côtés, puis à la main à l'intérieur, le long de la fermeture éclair. On crochète 30 m. de chaînette, on insère le bout de la chaînette dans la fermeture éclair et on fait un rg de m. serrées. Et l'autre jour, dans une boutique, le monsieur (si, si, un monsieur) de la caisse me dit "ah, mais c'est très mignon ça !". Du coup, j'ai réfléchis, et je me suis dit : "ben oui, c'est joli, et pratique !". Je l'utilise tellement que je l'avais oublié, vous pouvez croire ça ???? J'ai donc décidé : 1) de vous offrir le tuto. 2) d'en faire pour une bonne action. Mais d'abord, la photo !!! Comme vous pouvez le constater, c'est un porte monnaie type bourse. Le tuto ! Coton 3 de chez Phildar, et crochet 3.5. On commence par faire 4 mailles en l'air (ml) et on ferme par une maille coulée (mc) afin de faire un cercle. Rang 1 : 1 ml, puis 8 mailles serrées (ms) dans le cercle. Rang 2 : 2 ms dans chaque maille du rang précédent. Rang 3 : *1 ms dans la ms du rang précédent, et 2 ms dans la suivante*. Et pour savoir quand on arrive à la fin du rang quand on travaille en rond ? Le fond est fini. Voilà, c'est fini !!!!

So I asked my kids to make a few traditional fold and cut paper snowflakes for me before they left for school. I wanted to use them as templates for my idea. Instead, my 10 yr old showed me a 3D paper snowflake they had made in his art class. I loved the beauty and simplicity of it, so I changed my course! …it worked! Step 1: Cut one 6″x 6″ square of felt. Step 2: Using a straight edge and an Xacto knife, cut along the first line from the corner to about 1/4″ from the diagonal line. Repeat until all cuts have been made, keeping the felt intact at each corner on the diagonal line. Step 3: Lift the corners of the center square and hand stitch the ends together with matching thread. Step 4: Turn the piece over and lift the corners of the second square. Step 5: Continue turning the piece over, overlapping points and stitching until all 4 squares are stitched. This makes a large ornament, about 10″ in total length.
