The Dark Side of Oz

The Dark Side of Oz

If You Really Pay Attention, by Paula Underwood My family calls me Pancho and I'd like you to know that I love you all... I missed Wednesdays but I was there. It seems that all the kindness, all the care, all the understanding absorbed by each cell of my body, all this truth, all this condensed love is coming out of my soul with no control. Yesterday (Sunday), as I was eating the food (including the most delicious dessert I had in many years!) My family calls me Pancho and I'd like you to know that I love you all... I missed Wednesdays but I was there. 1. 1. I invite you to pay attention next time you are eating dinner at Santa Clara (or elsewhere! If you pay attention, all that love in some way will land warmly in your heart. 2. It's time to Walk Out. If you pay attention you will see that the greatest leaders of humanity were servant leaders. If you pay attention, we all can serve. 3. To develop understanding you need to practice to look at all living beings with the eyes of compassion. Hide full comment.

World debt comparison: The global debt clock Super Creative Sites That Will Kick You In The Gut and Keep You Coming Back For More | The Nonsense Society The following is my top 7 list of odd, zany, emotional websites that will kick you in the gut and keep you coming back for more. These kinds of sites are consistently most inspiring to me. They have the raw emotion that I crave and feed off daily. Both the concept and content of all these sites are creative. I hope you agree… PostSecret Okay. a softer world This is an incredible combination of artsy photography and written word. a beautiful revolution I don’t think this one is as well known as the last 2, but it’s definitely a gold mine. explodingdog A nonsensical name (totally my style), but an inspiring artist. Awful Drawings This dude emailed me as I was writing this post (believe it or not) and I’m totally into it. FOUND Magazine Heard about this one a couple years ago and loved the concept. Nonsense Thoughts At the risk of looking like an ass-hole I am going to plug my own creation: Nonsense Thoughts.

In Photos: Signs from the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear | Posted The performances were only part of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Saturday afternoon. Rally attendees came prepared with homemade signs — some purely political, but most in keeping with the event’s satirical nature — which the Post‘s Jonathan Kay and Chris Boutet dutifully captured. Native American Code Of Ethics | Saved by Slow Death I recently found these Native American code of ethics - I am unsure of where this originated and of it’s accuracy. Regardless of where it originated, I like it and I wanted to pass it on. So much common sense, a great respect for the earth and everything that calls it home. I’m a big nature and animal lover so of course I’m posting it. No Native American culture was perfect, but the Europeans could have learned from them. your permission slip from the universe | White Hot Truth: because self-realization rocks. I’ve got the Goddess of Permission on speed dial and she was thrilled to oblige with this sweeping list of acts of self expression and liberation. We can draw on it whenever we need. Come back often. Build on it. 10 Ways Our Minds Warp Time How time perception is warped by life-threatening situations, eye movements, tiredness, hypnosis, age, the emotions and more… The mind does funny things to our experience of time. Just ask French cave expert Michel Siffre. In 1962 Siffre went to live in a cave that was completely isolated from mechanical clocks and natural light. He soon began to experience a huge change in his perception of time. When he tried to measure out two minutes by counting up to 120 at one-second intervals, it took him 5 minutes. But you don’t have to hide out in a cave for a couple of months to warp time, it happens to us all the time. 1. People often report that time seems to slow down in life-threatening situations, like skydiving. But are we really processing more information in these seconds when time seems to stretch? To test this, Stetson et al. (2007) had people staring at a special chronometer while free-falling 50 metres into a net. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Time is relative “Time is an illusion.
