Free Technology for Teachers Biomedical engineer Biomedical engineers apply engineering principles and materials technology to healthcare. This can include researching, designing and developing medical products, such as joint replacements or robotic surgical instruments, designing or modifying equipment for clients with special needs in a rehabilitation setting, or managing the use of clinical equipment in hospitals and the community. Biomedical engineers are employed by health services, medical equipment manufacturers and research departments/institutes. Job titles vary depending on the exact nature of the work. bioengineer; design engineer; clinical engineer or scientist (in a hospital setting/clinical situation). Typical work activities The tasks carried out vary depending on the type of employer and seniority of the post held, but they can include: using computer software and mathematical models to design, develop and test new materials, devices and equipment. UNIX Tutorial Three 3.1 Redirection Most processes initiated by UNIX commands write to the standard output (that is, they write to the terminal screen), and many take their input from the standard input (that is, they read it from the keyboard). There is also the standard error, where processes write their error messages, by default, to the terminal screen. We have already seen one use of the cat command to write the contents of a file to the screen. Now type cat without specifing a file to read % cat Then type a few words on the keyboard and press the [Return] key. Finally hold the [Ctrl] key down and press [d] (written as ^D for short) to end the input. What has happened? If you run the cat command without specifing a file to read, it reads the standard input (the keyboard), and on receiving the 'end of file' (^D), copies it to the standard output (the screen). In UNIX, we can redirect both the input and the output of commands. 3.2 Redirecting the Output We use the > symbol to redirect the output of a command.
Images - Clip Art, Photos, Sounds, & Animations Insert clip art In the newer versions of Office, there's no longer a clip art library, but Office still helps you insert clip art. STEP 1: Select Insert > Online Pictures (In Outlook, when you're using the Reading pane, there isn't an Insert menu. Click Pop Out and then you'll see the Insert menu.) STEP 2: Type a word or phrase to describe what you're looking for, then press Enter. STEP 3: Filter the results by Type for Clipart. STEP 4: Select a picture. STEP 5: Select Insert. That's it! The image is inserted in your Office document. Clip art and copyright The licensing filter (Creative Commons only or All) can help you choose images that are appropriate for the use you have in mind. When using pictures or clip art from Bing, you're responsible for respecting copyright, and the license filter in Bing can help you choose which images to use. Free image library: the Pickit add-in Another option is to install an Office add-in named Pickit that puts free, licensed clip art in Office. Feedback

Mechanical Engineering Book Reference Hello all, I have noticed a good number of threads pertaining to which book is recommended for a certain subject so I thought that a nice list of the ones most widely used would be good to create. Here are the books that I use daily in the design of Pressure Vessels, Boilers, and Heat Exchangers. 1. - North American COMBUSTION HANDBOOk Volume 1 2. - Introduction to Heat Transfer 4th Edition by Incropera and Dewitt Note - Don't waste your time with the additional chapters on mass transfer they are practically useless. 3. - Transport Phenomena 2nd Edition by Bird Stewart and Lightfoot. Note - Best all around book you can use for this subject. 4. - Radiative Transfer by Hottel and Sarofim Note - This one is hard to come by but if you see it buy it. 5. - Classical Thermodynamics 3rd Edition by Van Wylen and Sonntagg Thanks Matt
