Technology Teaching Resources with Brittany Washburn: Teaching Email in the Elementary Classroom Teaching email in the Elementary classroom can be a challenge, and there is little to find online about how to do it. This may be due to the variation and exposure students have at such a young age. Some students may already have access to texting, some may not. Some may have a desktop at home, others may not. So, it’s important that the students have a basic grasp on the technology they are using before attempting to teach them email. That being said, teaching email is a lot like teaching the long lost art of letting writing, just change your language from “letter writing” to “email writing”! As I mentioned before, student’s will differ on their technology exposure, writing abilities, and learning styles. - They may be writing an email about what they did over Christmas break. - They may write an email to the principal about how great he or she is. There are so many possibilities. Go over the parts of a letter/email: - Email address - Subject - Greeting - Body - Closing - Use proper grammar

Fourth and Ten: Summer School Goodies For You {Freebies} Hi there friends! I'm prepping for summer school today. It's actually a pretty easy and sweet gig, but I needed to prep a few little things so for the program, and I thought I'd share my goodies with you. :) Even though I'll only have my summer school kiddos for a few weeks, I still wanted to get to know them a bit. Click {here} to get your own copy. :) I changed it up a little bit to fit my summer school needs, but you get the idea. I also whipped up a little incentive chain to get my kiddos to read at home during our program. Nothing really earth shattering here, but if I could save one of y'all sometime one day, posting these was worth it! Off to label folders and name tags!
Technology Lesson Plans K-5 Computer Lab Analyzing Student Misconceptions With Proportional Relationships Common core State Standards Math: Math Practice: Mathematical Practice Standards MP1: Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.Mathematically proficient students start by explaining to themselves the meaning of a problem and looking for entry points to its solution.
