OpenOffice on Ubuntu 9.04 After our famous "How to Install OpenOffice.org 3.0 on Ubuntu 8.10" guide and because the final versions of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) and OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 are out for some time now, we decided to create a new tutorial, about how to install the fresh and improved OpenOffice.org 3.1.0 on Ubuntu 9.04. However, this tutorial will also work for Ubuntu 8.10 and Ubuntu 8.04, but we haven't tested it! WARNING: Before you start, please make sure that your system is up-to-date! Any requirements? STEP 1 - Add the OpenOffice.org 3.1 repositories Go to System -> Administration -> Software Sources... Enter your password. I was able to attend a hands-on workshop, and then hit the seminar the following Friday when it came to Orlando. He mentioned to me before the seminar that it was going to be a lot of deja vu for me, and he was right. However, it was still very informative to see it the second time around because my head was in a bit of a different place for a seminar vs. a hands-on workshop. Have you ever gone through some training and got home, only to discover there was something you didn’t quite catch? It happens to me all the time, so my second visit cleared up some of those issues for me. I had a front-row seat at both events. One aspect of this tour is that you see how the lights build up.
