he 19th DB Insurance Promy Open, the opening match of the 2024 season Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) Tour (total prize money of 700 million won, winner's prize of 140 million won), opens.

The DB Insurance Promy Open will be held for four days starting on the 11th at the Raviebel CC Old Course (par 71) in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do.

A total of 144 players will participate, including defending champion Go Gun-taek, last season's prize money winner Park Sang-hyun, and Jazz Jane Wattanannand (Thailand), who won a total of 7 games on the Asian Tour. The winner of the competition will be granted a seed for three years (2025-2027).

Ko Gun-taek, who debuted on the KPGA tour in 2022, achieved three wins last year. After lifting the championship trophy at the DB Insurance Open, he took the top spot at the Honors K and Solarago CC Han Jang Sang Invitational and the Shinhan Donghae Open. In this competition, they will attempt to win the title twice and defend their title for the first time in history.

Go Gun-taek said, "This is my first win in my life, and it is a meaningful tournament for me personally because I gained a lot of confidence through winning the opening game." He added, "I have already improved my game sense and physical strength through the Asian Tour. This is my first title defense. “I will do my best as much as I can,” he said.

Veteran golfer Park Sang-hyun aims to regain the top spot after two years. He won this competition in 2022, setting a new record for the oldest winner. If he wins this tournament, he will achieve his 13th win on the KPGA Tour.

Jane Wattanand will begin her KPGA tour activities in earnest starting with this tournament. He qualified for this year's KPGA Tour as the winner of the 2019 Korean Open.

Jane Wattanannand said, “I know that the competitiveness of the KPGA Tour is high. I am working hard to improve my skills,” and added, “My goal is to get one win on the KPGA Tour.”

In addition to Go Gun-taek and Park Sang-hyun, Moon Do-yeop, Lee Tae-hoon, Jeon Gar-ram, and Heo In-hoe are challenging to win the competition for the second time. Wooyoung Cho and Yubin Jang, gold medalists in the golf event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, are also entering the competition.

Ham Jeong-woo, who won the KPGA Korean Tour grand prize last year, will not participate in this tournament due to his schedule on the Korn Ferry Tour, the second division tour of the PGA of America.
