HOW TO GET WHAT YOU WANT. Fish Scale Sensor This sensor is inspired by the “design” of fish scales and bird feathers: how single elements are repeated, and how it allows the main body to bend smoothly by sliding over the others. The scale in this sensor is made with Eeonyx non-woven conductive textile. The carbon is infused on non woven textile in order […] Woven Pressure sensors Just like Felted Pompom Pressure Sensor and felted crochet pressure sensor, it also works as pressure sensor when conductive yarns are woven into a textile structure.

Here I tried two types of woven structure, satin and honeycomb. Filed under 'interactive design' Ryoji Ikeda 's digital video installation The Transfinite, that was on show in New York's ParK Avenue Armory until June 11th, 2011. Amongst other things, it has been compared to a walk in an oversized animated Op-Art painting (NY Times). Not only does Ikeda dematerialize the space that way, the massive proportions immerse you literally into digital code. Photo credit: Doug Wong CLOUD began as a large-scale interactive sculpture created from 6,000 light bulbs by Canadian artists Caitlind r.c. Brown & Wayne Garrett. The piece utilizes everyday domestic light bulbs and pull strings, re-imagining their potential to create wonder and inspire collaboration. As part of the process of creating the sculpture, the artists collected burnt out incandescent light bulbs from the surrounding community, forging an informal relationship with non-artists, reducing costs, and asking audiences to reconsider household items in an alternative context. During exhibition, viewers interact with CLOUD by initiating impromptu collaborations, working as a collective to turn the entire sculpture on and off. A third evolution of the sculpture was created in June 2013 in Chicago, USA.
