At the end of the party, our very generous hostess gave each of us a small gift when we left, a lip balm with a personalized tag with the name of the guest of honor, as well as the date of the shower. A charming and thoughtful gift as well as a practical gift. Something I would surely love to wear.
It was until I got home and tried to use it. It was dry, grainy, and too waxy, essentially worthless as I tried to apply it to my lips with little success. Then I took a look at the ingredient list and it was almost entirely an unappealing ingredient list with a chemical sound. Nothing exceptional to put on my lips. So, unfortunately, the favor of the lip balm fell in the trash. And I'm sure other party members ended up doing the same.
However, I loved the idea of offering a personalized lip balm as a party gift, so I decided to do a little research. And this is what came to my mind:
Before buying, look at a list of ingredients for the balm. If you don't recognize the first ingredients, don't buy them. However, if the main ingredients include things like shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado oil, vitamin E, etc. then you should trust your purchase.
Does the item description include the words "nourish", "soften", "calm"? Otherwise, be careful with the product.
After all, isn't that the reason why people use lip balm?
Is it mass produced or made to order? Mass production generally means that it has chemical preservatives to significantly extend its shelf life. Made-to-measure ensures freshness and offers the additional advantage of often allowing you to choose the aroma or flavor of the lip balm.
Use these three questions as a guide and I'm sure you'll be able to choose the best lip balm that your guests will not only wear, but love too!
