...love Maegan: * Partial French Braid & Cascading Hair Tutorial *also known as the "Waterfall Braid" Fashion+Home+Lifestyle Blog. I’m not the originator of this hair style but I’ve gotten so many requests for it, I thought I’d give it a go for you. I don’t know what it’s called either so I haven’t researched it and/or found any other tutorials for it …thus, this is my version of it, and I’ve dubbed it the Partial French Braid w/ Cascading Hair. The photos I’ve seen online show the braid a little more straight across the back of the head and mine sort of braids at an angle, similar to my side/low french braid up-do.
I’m sure this is 100% easier to do on someone else’s hair than your own but it goes pretty quickly once you get the hang of it …I mean, it’s my shortest hair video tutorial to date. That’s gotta mean something, right Enjoy. Note: Apologies in advance for the yelling of “NOOOO” towards the end, where I momentarily fear I’m going to lose my entire braid and have to start over. In fact . . . the most, the best! With that being said, we’ll show you how to master a version of the ever so popular wrap bracelet.
It’s so simple and addicting, you’ll soon be churning out these wristlets with your eyes closed. Clearly this arm party train isn’t stopping and it’s about time you get on board! You’ll need (for a double wrapped bracelet) :* Lengths will vary depending on the size of your wrist (see comments for suggestions).
Fold the length of leather cording in half to form a loop. Place the ball chain along the leather cording with the end of the chain meeting the end of the wrap. Continue wrapping while checking it for fit around the wrist. When you have reached the end of the ball chain wrap the linen cording around the leather strands 2-3 more times. Thread the hex nut through the strands and tie a second knot. Trim with scissors and your wrap bracelet is finished!!
Craft It Out: Watercolor Satin. If you’ve been on my then you’ve seen that I am attracted to watercolor-inspiration and Georgia O’Keeffe! So I wanted to do something with watercolor, but something that also echoed these breathtaking paintings. I decided to do a Craft It Out session, doing something I like to call Watercolor Satin. You need: Step 1) Pin your sheet (not entirely satin, but whatever!) Step 2) Grab your hose and spray down your sheet… remember that the water goes through the fabric very easily so try to hose it down with a light setting and have nothing in back of it that cannot get wet. Step 3) A note about paint: I noticed that my cheap Walmart watercolors weren’t even close to doing the job, so I had to get out my acrylic paint and mix it with water to get the desired outcome of color. No Good! That's more like it! Step 4) Yay! Step 5) Spray down the sheet again, this time with the MIST setting (or low water pressure) to make the colors run.
Step 6) Go ahead and clean up… it’s a mess, I know! Done! Easy no sew Roman Shades. I'm so happy today! I just finished hanging my new Roman Shades in my kitchen! The windows in there had been bare for years and honestly, my neighbors were starting to complain. You see, when you look out of my kitchen windows you see my neighbor's house and driveway. There's no buffer zone between our homes. My house is literally on the boarder of their property, so there's no privacy, but I grew up in the middle of no where, where trees hid our windows and allowed us to walk around in our underwear anytime we wanted....ah those were the days! Well sometimes I forget that I don't live in the woods anymore and sometimes I might walk through the kitchen past the windows to my laundry room in nothing but a towel...hence my neighbors complaints...oops!
Time to cover them up! Finally, I got up the courage to begin the project. In this post I'm going to show you how I did it, because I did tweak it a bit to make it easier for me. First I started with cheap mini blinds from Walmart. How to Make a Slipcover for an Iron Headboard. The process of making a slip cover for your iron headboard involves taking measurements of the headboard, purchasing fabric and batting for the slip cover, sewing it together and placing it over the headboard. This type of project can be accomplished by most do-it-yourselfers with a little training on using a sewing machine. This article describes the tools, materials and steps needed to accomplish this task.
Step 1: Measure the Iron Headboard The first step in the process of making a slip cover for your iron headboard is to take measurements of the headboard. Step 2: Purchase Fabric and Materials for the Slip Cover With the measurements that were taken in Step 1, go to a fabric store and purchase the fabric material needed for the slip cover. As for the padding, use a cotton batting material that you will sew into the sip cover. Step 3: Cut the Fabric With the fabric in hand, use the fabric scissors to cut the fabric into 4 large squares to form the slip cover. Step 5: Sew the Slip Cover. Tutorial-Credit Card Holder. I don't know what it is about this time of year that makes me just want to have my bare feet in the sand, be watching the sun setting into the ocean, and breathing in the warm salty air of the beach...as i get older, more and more i find myself missing that place i used to go to almost every.single.day. as a teen. (my skin doesn't miss it. as a matter of fact, i now wish i listened more and DID put SPF on my face...hindsight is 20/20). my mom calls me from her walk on the beach almost every morning...
