OPS SAVES US$10 MILLION IN H1 THROUGH SOFTSWISS Fraud Prevention Efforts

Gaming software provider SoftSwiss (SOFTSWISS) said its group anti-fraud team, part of its Managed Services division, helped customers save more than 9.2 million euros ($10.1 million) in the first half of 2023, up 23% from a year earlier.

In a press release on Thursday, the company said it was increasing its efficiency "to address evolving issues with customers."

SOFTSWISS said its anti-fraud team handled 60,000 requests from operators in "a wide range of issues" including player checks and suspicious activity notifications.

"Almost 70% of all frauds detected by anti-fraud teams were linked to abuse of bonuses, while another 10% was attributed to money laundering," the company said. "The rest of the cases involved claims, abuse of payment systems, and other types of fraudulent activity," the company added.

Ilya Nesterau, leader of the anti-fraud team, said: "The team has successfully resolved more than 100 player complaints filed with regulators or industry forums."

The executive added: "We leverage our extensive expertise to carefully review each issue situation to provide operators with careful consultation on how to resolve the issue without escalation."

SOFTSWISS has been developing "new fraud detection tools" by implementing "neural network" and "machine learning" technologies.

The company said earlier this week that it was using artificial intelligence technology to help with anti-fraud operations on behalf of the iGaming operator.
