Different Types of Industrial Steel Products

Steel is used for various utility from Building constructions to home use materials due to its beneficial characteristics like durability, strength and versatility. Let's learn 10 different types of Industrial Steel Products and their usage.

1. Rectangular Steel Sheet

This type of steel comes in rectangular shape often used in structural, mechanical and engineering purpose. Rectangular Steel sheets are very hard, and they are usually seen in architecture projects.

2. Stainless Steel

These steels are one of the versions of alloy steels with 10-15% of alloy elements in it. Due to its increased corrosion resistance, stainless pipe fittingsteel is one of the most produced types of steel. They are highly used in food processing (Gas stoves), medical instruments, hardware and appliances.

Stainless steel pipes and fittings are usually traded the most in stainless steel.

3. Carbon Steel Plates

Carbon steel is divided into three variants low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and high carbon steel. Low Carbon steel has a low amount of carbon with aluminium added it is also known to be produced in so several different shapes. Medium Carbon Steel has a moderate level of carbon with manganese content; these steels are harder. High Carbon Steel has a high content of carbon ranging from 0.61% to 1.50% of carbon. Once heated this type of steel becomes hard and brittle.

4. Round Steel Sheet

They look like an enlarged coin with thickened border side. They are often engaged in structural and engineering projects. Due to their heaviness, they are the first choice for a major architect. Pipe fitting manufacturers usually prefer Round Steel Sheet for the composition of their products.

5. Billets

This type of steel is used constitution. They come in a long and rectangular shape and they have good conduction of heat and electricity.

6. Steel Channels

Steel Channels are well known for their durability. They are made in different shapes and sizes. They are often used in symmetrical beams.

7. Tool Steels

Tool steel is an ideal type of steel for drilling and cutting equipment mainly due to its metallic presence of Molybdenum, Tungsten, Vanadium and Cobalt. Tools Steels are used to make pipes, bars, Rod, Rails, Coils, Sheets and more.

8. Alloy Steel

Alloy Steel is configured from one or more alloying elements such as copper, chromium, silicon, nickel, manganese. Alloy steels are economical; they have variations in products; they are good at processing and also have good mechanical characteristics.

9. Damascus Steel

Damascus Steel is tough and edgy often used to make blades, swords and knives. These steels are reputed to be tough, sharp and edgy. They are named after the capital of Syria the capital of Damascus arguably the oldest city in the world because they are said to be first used in the city in ancient civilization.

10. Maraging Steels

This type of steel is used in making engine components like crankshafts and gears due to low carbon content maraging Steels are hard to get damaged. They are indeed so mighty.

With such a diverse range of options available, you must choose one which meets your requirements the best.
