Fold it in half as shown. Here you can see the crease in the photo below left. Now fold each edge of the paper upwards as shown. Bring the corners of the hat brim towards each other. Now take one lower corner of the square and fold it upwards. You now have a folded triangle. ...again, "squash" the triangle into a square (below middle photo).
Now pull the outer corners of the square, one in each hand. Keep pulling to unfold your boat. We like to turn the boat over and expand the hole in the bottom. All current teacher trainees are required to pass skills tests in numeracy and literacy before they can be recommended for the award of qualified teacher status (QTS).
