London Calling: Nail Design

In honor of London Fashion week, I have made an original nail design tutorial that's easy enough for any budding artist. This tutorial doesn't use any materials you don't already have in your house. Cool enough for pretty fashion icons, rock 'n rollers, or even plain Janes; the Union Jack pattern is totally eye-catching on your nails! Let's get started... Step 1: Gather materials. Colorful Dots Nail Tutorial. This is usually what my nails look like.

Colorful Dots Nail Tutorial

It is quick, easy & cute, I like that you can use any colors for this look and it always works. Here's what you'll need: A top coat (I use Sally Hansen Dries Instantly, dries in about 30 second), feature colors for your dots, a base color, glitter polish. Go wild with picking out colors, it really does work with any combo. First, prep for your manicure, to make it last longer. Remove your old polish, if any, and soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Blue Manicure: Triangle Nail Art DIY. Hmmm… I’m not sure I’m completely, 100% in love with this.

Blue Manicure: Triangle Nail Art DIY

I mean, I loved the idea and have wanted to create it for a few weeks now but again, I’m not sure it came out exactly how I was hoping. I like it but I think I may have to give it another go with a bit of a different technique. I went with a Y shape over a simple V because the latter had a French manicure feel that I wasn’t aiming for. I think I just wanted the silver Y a bit thinner but my brush was too large. YSL Mondrain Nail Design. Another nail design tutorial!

YSL Mondrain Nail Design

This time, it's YSL-inspired. You know the iconic Mondrian dress? Well, you can create this on your nails; who knew? Anyways, with a couple of simple steps, you can have this super-cool mani done and ready to wear anywhere. It's pretty similar to my last tutorial, so that means once you get the technique down, you're ready to roll. Manic MANI MONDAY: NEON STRIPED NAILS. This might be the easiest nail design ever.

Well, the easiest design that you do by hand. It's fun and bright and doesn't take too much time. Obviously you can use whatever colors you want but these steps will explain exactly how I created these Neon Striped Nails. Here is what you do.... Gather the colors you want your stripes to be. Manic MANI MONDAY: CARNIVAL NAILS. Today's nails were inspired but the bold primary colors and patterns that are found within a carnival.

In appropriate colors this mani may also be suitable for Independence Day! This tutorial is going to show you how to make stencils for your nails out of sticker sheets. Here is what you will need.. - Sticker Sheet of stars (The stars should be small enough to fit on your nail.) - Three colors of nail polish (The Art Deco one is the kind with the long skinny brush) Paint your nails white. 5 Step Nails: Minnie Mouse. A cute and easy Minnie Mouse inspired look!

Speckled St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Patrick’s Day is Saturday, and if you’re the type of person who doesn’t wear green, this is perfect for you. It’s a no-brainer. Your “something green” is painted on, and without being doused in lucky charms and rainbows and leprechauns and four leaf clovers, you can be just as festive as your insanely excited Irish friend {who probably looks a little like me as I hail from Ireland} and avoid getting pinched by that annoying guy who is so hoping you don’t wear green so he can finally touch you.

How-To: Instant Nail Arts - Do Yourself. DIY: Glitter Polish. Yes…you read correctly, I’m going to show you how to make your own glitter nail polish!

DIY: Glitter Polish

As you probably know, I am a HUGE fan of nail polish. I paint my nails 4-5 times a week. So, instead of spending tons of money on glitter polish, I wanted to see if it would be easy to make my own, and it was! I chose to do a blue glitter since that is what I seemed to be lacking. I’m also going to give yellow a try soon, and I’ll blog about that one as well!
