DIY Craft Project: How to craft a twine-ball light garland {As featured on Rock n Roll Bride} Time for another DIY craft project and today I’ll be showing you exactly how you can make this twine-ball light garland yourself.

It’s one of those projects that’s a little bit messy and does take quite a bit of time, but it is so much fun. Plus you have a really cool piece of decor at the end of it. Perfect for parties or around the home, you can paint it up in any colour you want to match your design scheme, and when lit, it looks so pretty, casting lots of patterned twinkly light everywhere. Mine is now taking pride of place in my office. How-to make a Twine Ball Light Garland I’ve seen twine balls used for all sorts of purposes, from chandeliers to dining table decor, so I thought I’d have a go at making a light garland using this idea. I wanted something that would create a really pretty lighting effect, but I also wanted the string to have quite a strong and vibrant colour.

I chose to use coloured twine, alternating between pink and purple twine balls. {You will need} Michelle x. The Look - DIY! 7 new stylish ways to de-clutter your beauty closet. DIY Collar Tips. You probably have guessed by now that we have a major soft spot for almost all things western . . . bolos, cowboy boots and the like. So when Balenciaga incorporated a modern take on western collar tips into their Spring 2011 Collection, we were beyond thrilled.

Who knew these little metal tips are capable of brightening up any button up shirt?! With a pair of inexpensive decorative brass corners from the hardware store, we made our own Balenciaga-inspired collar tips that are to DIY for. Start by drawing 2 lines at 45 degree angles on the inside of each brass corner, creating a small wedge. Use the cutting pliers to cut out the wedges. Sandwich a brass corner between two pieces of fabric.

Once you’ve flattened your corners, super glue a clutch pin back to each backside. Let it dry. Attach your new collar tips to any shirt! We’re excited to experiment with more fancy decorative corners and adorn our collared shirts! (top image from here, rest of images by Honestly…WTF) DIY Transparent Clutch. Phil Oh spotted this elegant Charlotte Olympia Pandora clutch during Paris Fashion Week and we spotted a DIY. Prada, Chanel & Fendi seem to be seeing clearly too because let’s face it, nothing says “I ain’t got shit to hide” like a transparent clutch. You’ll start by drilling a hole at the top of the plastic box. Use a drill bit that is one size larger than the diameter of the bolt on the knob, otherwise the plastic might crack.

Open the lid and slowly drill a hole in the center of the box with very light pressure. Please wear protective eyewear and use caution! You can practice by drilling a few holes into the cover of a plastic CD case. Once the hole is drilled, use wire cutters to trim about an inch off the bolt. Push the knob through the hole of the box and replace the washer and nut. Voila! (top image by Phil Oh for Vogue.com, rest of images by Honestly…WTF)

Today I'm here to share some tips for sewing leather and a DIY of this cute little fringe purse... -As a beginner, it's best to start with the thinnest material that you can. Choose a leather, vinyl or suede that isn't too thick. Remember that most commercial leather products are sewn with an industrial machine.

-Buy a leather needle for your sewing machine. -Consider buying a walking foot for your sewing machine (both this and the leather needle can be found at a sewing shop!) -Change your stitch length to 3-3.5. -Be minimal with pins. -Test stitch scraps before starting on your project. -If your leather gets stuck in the machine, lift the foot and allow the leather to relax for a moment before continuing. -Leather, suede and most vinyl fabrics are dry clean and hand wash only, so don't put them in your home washing machine! This small leather fringe purse is the perfect first project when sewing.

Step 1: Cut a rectangle of leather. This is the perfect beginner project! Holder for Charging Cell Phone (made from lotion bottle) My husband and I both have cell phones. And both of us have phone chargers. And that means lots of obnoxious cords. You never know when one of us may be moving phone cords around, to give our phones an extra charge while we’re chatting away……… or trying to charge our phones up before running errands or something. Needless to say, those phone cords seem to be everywhere…..and are generally in the way and hanging all over the floor. (Okay, and how about when you’re in a hotel or visiting family/friends.

I was looking around on the internet for a solution and found this. It made the perfect little holder for my cell phone while it’s being charged. Holder for Charging Cell Phone And no more phone hanging down from the outlet while in this room or that room……..the cord and phone are now up off the ground, and tucked away into the little holder, while the phone drinks up a full charge. If you look closely, you can see that the orange print is fabric. And turns out, it’s pretty useful. More Design Please - MoreDesignPlease - DIY Doily&Lamp.
