Facebook Twitter

Barrett’s esophagus is a condition where the lining of the esophagus, the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach, undergoes changes and becomes more similar to the lining of the intestine.

This condition is usually caused by long-term acid reflux, which irritates the lining of the esophagus and can lead to inflammation and scarring.
Barrett’s esophagus is a relatively rare condition, but it is important because it can increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer.
