A parenthood journey is very different for couples. Some couples start enjoying it as they think of it while some have to struggle a lot. And, if it occurs to you, visit a fertility clinic or IVF centre in Delhi or any local city. After interacting with you and going through the reports of the recommended tests, the doctor suggests IVF treatment to you.
When it comes to having IVF or in vitro fertilization treatment to facilitate your journey, many of you come across a lot of things that could be medically true or false. Here, have a look at some common myths about IVF treatment:
1. No success in the first IVF treatment cycle
It is a total myth. The success of the IVF treatment largely depends on factors like maternal age, egg/sperm quality, the current status of the fallopian tubes and uterine, and the implantation process along with lifestyle habits before, during, and after treatment. Around 40% of IVF treatment is successful in the very first attempt.
2. IVF success doesn’t mean maternal age
IVF success is not equal for all potential mothers. It is higher in younger females, usually below 35. After the age of 45, no doctor will advise IVF treatment to you.
3. IVF always means multiple pregnancies.
It is not true in the current world. Earlier, 2-3 embryos were used to transplant into a female’s uterus. Such implantation caused multiple pregnancies. In today’s world, most doctors transfer one embryo to make the implantation successful.
4. All people with infertility need IVF
It is also not true. Based on the time and status of your infertility and reproductive organs, your doctor will recommend a few suitable fertility treatments that could be IVF, ICSI, IUI, and allied others.
5. Bad lifestyle has no impact on the success of IVF treatment.
It is baseless. The success of IVF treatment has a close link to age, egg/sperm quality, lifestyle habits, and the current health status of reproductive organs in a female’s body.
