What are the signs and symptoms of a stroke?

Facebook Twitter

There may be a sudden onset of the "worst headache of your life" before any of the symptoms (mentioned below).

The following stroke symptoms may occur concurrently or sequentially, or just one or two symptoms may occur:

Sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body's face, arm, or leg.

Unexpected uncertainty, difficulty speaking or understanding.

Unexpected difficulties or loss of eyesight.

Unexpected difficulty walking, dizziness, or imbalance.

These symptoms might be moderate or severe, as well as transitory or permanent. If the episodes are short (usually lasting 5-15 minutes), they are referred to as transient ischemic attacks (TIAs).

TIAs are vital warning symptoms of an upcoming stroke and should be treated as soon as possible.
