So Happy. Thank you Celtic. Poppy Time Again. It’s that time of year again when everybody is asked to wear a Poppy to show remembrance to ordinary people who gave their lives for what they believed was the greater good. It’s also the time of year that Celtic fans get unfairly singled out for abuse and RFC parade UK Armed Forces to claim them as exclusively theirs. Given their fight against paying their Tax it’s good to see that Irony is alive and well at Ibrox. It’s also a time to feel the hurt of everyone who lost their limbs, lives and family members in wars generated by politicians and the Aristocracy to protect their livelihood, investments and preserve their privileges. When I was a wee boy you innocently wore the poppy to remember the people who died in the wars. That is fair enough. What was once a genuine remembrance of lives lost has over the past decade been turned into an annual political event.
The first and second world Wars were a shameful waste of lives covering every nation that were involved. Like this: Racism and Violence from Celtic fans should not be tolerated. Over the weekend the good name of our club and our support was dragged through the mud with a halfwit on Twitter sending racist abuse to Rangers players and a group of thugs on a train beating up a young lad.
I’m happy to say that these incidents have been whole heartedly condemned by the Celtic Family on line. I say on line because these days that is were the hub of social chat takes place I dare say that many off line are equally disgusted by this behaviour. In the case of the halfwit on Twitter there was a feeling that the account which had very few following or followed could have been the work of someone outside the Celtic family trying to tarnish the good name of the club and support. On further investigation it appears that Michael Convery, 41, from Govan, is according to an ex -girlfriend a Celtic fan albeit an “armchair” fan as his girlfriend describes him. So what can the Celtic family do about these type of things? Hail, Hail Like this: Like Loading... Football. The Celtic Network. Hecsc. Celtic Daft. MONTEVIDEO CELTIC GROUP - PEDRO CAMPBELL CSC. Welcome to the 11th year of Celticbars, the Internet guide to Celtic friendly bars around the world. I started this site in 2001 and the site been guiding Celtic fans where to watch the Hoops and meet fellow supporters from far and wide since then. I have had fantastic support in that time and look forward to many more years to come As always, this site would be nothing without the feedback that I receive. It is very much appreciated when people take the time to inform me of changes. I am aware that the site is not perfect, but it is to be used as a guide to give us a fighting chance to find somewhere. Don’t expect miracles in far flung places. Please don’t just send me a list of Irish Bars unless they have a local Celtic FC connection. I am also aware that the bars are not used exclusively by Celtic fans, but fans from other teams.
