LightCollector - powered by Philips.
L'installation interactive est intitulée "Order to Control".
By Mark Prigg Published: 11:24 GMT, 8 August 2012 | Updated: 12:41 GMT, 8 August 2012 It may look like something out of The Flintstones but a PC made from wood has been hailed as one of the most environmentally friendly on the planet.
The Irish firm behind the iameco PC went to great lengths to ensure every possible part can be recycled The iameco PC has a wooden frame to reduce waste - it's makers say its carbon footprint is 70% less than a conventional PC It has a touch screen, a wooden frame and, cleverly, replaces the energy-sapping fan with a system of copper piping to create ‘heat sinks’, so it does not make a buzzing sound either. This means its carbon footprint is 70 per cent less than a typical PC while 98 per cent of the parts can be recycled, such as being used for parts on other computers. Special holes have been drilled into the case to act as speaker grills. A fully featured desktop PC and screen is built into the wooden casing.

Computers are neat, but since they’re often made with toxic chemicals such as mercury, they don’t always have a good impact on the environment.
One company, however, is doing something about it by making a computer out of wood. The Irish company iameco is producing the computer designed in Germany. It has a touchscreen and folds out to stand up using an easel design. Instead of a fan, it has copper piping to act as a heatsink. Around 98 percent of the computer can be recycled. “This touch-screen PC has a very low energy consumption over the entire lifecycle of the unit – starting from production, through the use phase to its ultimate recycling,” Alexander Schlosser of IZM, the Berlin-based company that designed the machine, told the Daily Mail.
