Guitarist John Petrucci of progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER is featured in the April 2012 issue of Total Guitar, said to be Europe's "best-selling" magazine. DREAM THEATER's new album, "A Dramatic Turn Of Events", sold 36,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 8. The band's previous CD, 2009's "Black Clouds & Silver Linings", opened with 40,000 units to land at No. 6. This was roughly in line with the first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "Systematic Chaos", which shifted 36,000 copies in 2007 to enter the chart at No. 19. 2005's "Octavarium" premiered with 27,000 copies to debut at No. 36. NIGHTWISH's Imaginaerum Director Stobe Harju Checks In - "The Teaser Trailer Is On My Desk"
While in Finland for the Helsinki Metal Meeting recently, BraveWords.com learned that NIGHTWISH's feature length Imaginaerum film is currently working on post-production special effects, with an anticipated completion in early April. Plans include a possible screening at Cannes. Come August 8th, the band will debut the film to fans with a special showing at the Hartwell Arena. The 11,000 capacity arena has hosted previous Nightwish live gigs, but this would be the largest movie premier in Finnish history. Imaginaerum Director Stobe Harju has checked in with the following update: "Where should I begin. Last months have been a battle getting all the required visual effects into the film as they deserve to be made. As some of you might have seen from Twitter, the film has reached a picture lock. What we have done during the past month has been looking through the film and doing a list of all the adr (additional dialogue recording).
