BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art

http://www.balticmill.com/ Elizabeth Price creates immersive video installations incorporating digital moving image, text and music. They draw upon existing archives of film, photography and physical collections of art to invent new, apocalyptic narratives. 29 FEBRUARY 2012: BALTIC 39, a new cultural hub for contemporary art located on High Bridge in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, will open to the public on Friday 6 April 2012. SWITCH , selected by Phyllida Barlow, is the inaugural exhibition at BALTIC 39. Featuring the work of 13 artists working in the UK, SWITCH opens to the public on Friday 6 April 2012.

http://archive.balticmill.com/ The BALTIC Library & Archive is a unique free resource for the study of contemporary art and design which can be accessed both in the building and via the internet. The Library contains an expanding collection of books, DVDs, Videos and periodicals while the Archive contains a wealth of information about past, present and future BALTIC projects including press cuttings, publicity and images. The Library & Archive has a relaxed study area with internet access and is an ideal place to explore the wider world of contemporary art. The Library & Archive is free to use. For those unable to visit the building, BALTIC has an online archive, accessible from any computer, which contains images, videos and information about our programme.

LONDON: Yael Bartana's film trilogy And Europe Will Be Stunned , including Artangel commission Zamach (Assassination) , will be shown at Hornsey Town Hall, Crouch End from 22 May - 1 July 2012. The films revolve around the activites of the Jewish Renaissance Movement in Poland, a group calling for the return of 3,300,000 Jews to the land of their forefathers. [More]
