England cambo. Project Environment: Cambo is a 1,300 acre coastal estate in the East Neuk of Fife, 7 miles south of St Andrews and adjacent to the small village of Kingsbarns in south east Scotland.
The estate is largely arable with mature woodlands and includes the main house, stables, coach house, walled garden, lodges and two model farms. Public access has been encouraged for many years and Cambo welcomes in the region of 47,000 visitors per year. Scotland preservation. Our team base is located in Dalkeith, a former mining area. Edinburgh is the political centre of Scotland, a cultural hub and is economically active. It gets international exposure during the Edinburgh festival. Participants will live in private rented accommodation during their stay, and as Edinburgh is the largest centre of population in South East Scotland, it is the best place to stay. All our volunteers are offered a personal mentor to support their pastoral care, and also receive workplace support and supervision from the relevant department co-ordinator. The project is based in a beautiful, tranquil rural valley within a supportive community. There are opportunities for any issues arising to be aired at the daily announcements after lunch. There are extra-curricular activities such as music, yoga and meditation. There are extensive walking and hiking routes and bicycles are available for volunteers to use. The whole sea-coast to the north and south of Opatija is picturesque, making it a special place for staying. Although our project can support volunteers with disadvantages themselves, we need to highlight that our Services can be very challenging. Therefore we will have to be careful with the selection to ensure that neither the young volunteer nor anyone else in the host Project will be put at risk. If a volunteer with fewer opportunities is selected we will offer a personal support plan that will be managed by the Volunteer Co-ordinator and the Project mentor.
