Recycled Paper Mobiles... - Buzzmills

If you are stopping by via Pinterest or from another link, thanks so much for coming! And, while you're at it, take a look around...there's lots of fun stuff to see! Have you heard about the fun going on over at Stumbles and Stitches? Angel and Jenny are having a Feather your Nest stitch along. It also happens to be a contest too! In the meantime, thanks to them, I got inspired and am getting a few little projects done around here... One of the rules of the stitch along is that you must use some sort of recycled or upcycled materials. So, the first project up...I am embarrassed to say that my Shamrocks were up until just yesterday (so were my Easter decorations for that matter...)! First I started here, my recycle bin... Then I drew the flying bird template and cut...The cutting part was a bit more involved then I had originally anticipated. (oops, I guess...I should focuss on some window cleaning too!!) How to Create a Calder Mobile: 11 steps.

Spring Butterfly Mobile {All About Easter} Today I am so excited to welcome Rebecca from Simple As That.

Spring Butterfly Mobile {All About Easter}

I have been reading Rebecca's blog for years now and have constantly felt inspired while reading it throughout the years. Her style is fresh, simple and clean..and as you can see on her blog and today, resourceful! Take it away, Rebecca: Hey everyone! My name is Rebecca Cooper & I'm so excited to be here at Kiki Creates today! I'm a wife and mother of four & I currently live with my family on a small island in the Dutch Caribbean.

{Spring Butterfly Mobile} This butterfly mobile is made from nothing more than a piece of cardboard, various scraps of paper & other easy to find items. Begin by gathering the supplies pictured below. Now you can cut or punch out your butterflies from the papers you've chosen. Once you have a large selection of butterflies you can start stitching them together by hand or use your sewing machine to form a strand filled with them as shown below. Now you can start making the framework of the mobile. Rainy Cloud Mobile. Time for some updates on the kids’ room!

Rainy Cloud Mobile

Now that The Sesame Seed has arrived, and my hands are more than full, September’ will be devoted to unveiling the final pieces of the the girls’ bedroom redesign Today’s DIY Rainy Cloud Mobile has been many months in the works. When I landed on Mochimochiland‘s insanely adorable knit niche of the Interwebs, I knew I needed an excuse to put one of her patterns to use. Enter: Rainycloud. I saw this little guy and decided that a rainy cloud mobile would be fitting hung over the umbrella covered love seat we’d put in the room. Photos: Courtesy of Ashley Weeks Cart. Diy: bird mobile. One of my very best friends is pregnant - someone with whom I went to preschool, Mother's Morning Out and Girl Scouts, and who I picked up every day for high school.

She and her husband live in Kentucky now, and they're decorating an adorable baby-girl nursery. Two years ago, I made a bunch of little birds to decorate our wedding reception, and I based the pattern on these beautiful birds that Jessica had made for me. I thought they would make a perfect mobile for a nursery some day, even before Spool's showed up online (theirs is adorable, too). Since my friend will be hanging a sampler in her nursery, and since I've always wanted to use them for something, I used wooden embroidery hoops to perch my birdies on. Materials: 1/4 yard each of four contrasting fabrics needle and thread polyester stuffing 10" and 12" wood embroidery hoops monofilament or fishing line about a dozen crimp tubes (available at beading stores)

OLD BRAND NEW: HOLIDAY SPUTNIK MOBILE. Remember the ornaments I mentioned about not using for my Polaroid Christmas tree this year?

I didn't wanna let them go to waste so I swapped out the Polaroids from the Polaroid mobile for these round ornaments. And tah-dah! A George Nelson inspired, sputnik mobile. This DIY is a piece of cake and costs very little. It's a subtle and perfect way to modernize your Christmas decorations. You can easily get a satellite photo mobile here. By the way, have you noticed that I pretty much sneak my Eames rocker into every photo?

Bird Mobile — Spool Sewing. I had been toying with the idea of a mobile project and our adorable bird pattern seemed the perfect fit.

I knew it would be gorgeous! What I hadn’t expected, though, is how some tree branches and a few carefully placed eye-hooks would transform this project into a work of art! This would be a welcome addition to a baby’s room or a great project for a baby shower. A single bird would be a whimsical way to highlight favorite prints around your home. Since all this birdie takes is two pieces of fabric and a needle & thread, it makes a great travel project.

Let us help you get started on your flock! P.S.
