Here are the covers we loved the most this year. In random order. Happy New Year everybody! kudos to Narita for the artI started making tapes in '77, when I found myself living around the corner from CBGB's, working for a music magazine and illustrating reviews for Lester Bangs (oops I dropped something). I was surrounded by a musical epoch, that years later would inspire bucket loads of films, books, t-shirts and now this web site. That same year I went back to the U.K. to collect my record. One damp dark night, I was comfortably crashed at a friends flat surrounding by his records. The excitement as I rummaged through his singles collection is hard to describe.

Review: This is the commonly aired show known as "MTV Live And Loud". There are excellent shots all around on this DVD. The picture and audio quality are both superb which makes this a great quality DVD. Additional notes: This is one of the wildest shows by Nirvana broadcast on MTV for New Year's Eve in 1993, and could easily be the considered the antithesis to the band's Unplugged performance in New York recorded earlier on 11/18/1993 at Sony Studios.

Things move fast around here. One minute, we’re a wee little family of nerdy music heads on a baby Tumblr, the next minute we’ve got thousands of new friends and we’re working in a blog community that’s growing like a weed . Last summer, I wrote a list of who I thought was putting up the best music content on Tumblr. People email me all the time to ask me to add them to this list, and a bunch of those bloggers are now gone and off to greener pastures now, their blogs lay fallow. I thought it high time to re-do the list.
