http://morningbymorningproductions.blogspot.com/2011/12/drawstring-bag-tutorial.html Well hello! How was your Christmas? Mine was wonderful, and perfect in every way. I've come down with a nasty cold since though, and lost my voice completely. My toddler thinks I'm whispering because I want her to play quietly, and keeps whispering back to me. Haha!

Drawstring Bag Tutorial

http://fromthetortoiseandthehare.blogspot.com/2010/06/mustache-mug-tutorial.html A fun, easy and silly gift to give the cute men in our lives this Father's Day. First, draw a mustache on the top of your mug with a sharpie marker. As you can see mine took a couple times to get right. Second, trace around the edges of the drawn mustache with your Pebeo pen.

About a week ago I made this dip-dye ombre studded shoulder sweater inspired by the current Topshop version. It's very easy to do, will save you a fair bit of money and looks just as good. If you've seen my post on dip dying a denim jacket, you might remember me mentioning I had dip dyed a few other items as well, and this grey sweater was one of them! Here's the famous Topshop studded shoulder sweater, and some other ombre/dip-dye trends I was inspired by...

DIY: Stencil Pillow

http://witandwhistle.com/2012/01/16/diy-stencil-pillow/ January 16th, 2012 Have you tried fabric markers yet? I finally got around to it, and they work great. Paired with a stencil you can use them to stencil your favorite quote on a tea towel, apron, t-shirt, table runner, pillow cover, place mat, cloth napkin, old pair of blue jeans—anything you can think of! {*style:<i><b>Supplies:

DIY Zipper Headband

I guess this is a week of headbands . ;) Have you ever stopped to think about what a cool gadget the zipper is? You can close things with one hand, they make a funny noise, they have "teeth"... Zippers are such a fun material to use in crafty things, and I can't believe that I never thought to wear one as a headband before. (I did make shoe flowers out of zippers a couple years ago, but then I've also tried to make everything into a flower.) :) What you need to make a zipper headband: http://www.starsforstreetlights.com/2012/02/diy-zipper-headband.html
http://www.madeitonmonday.com/search/label/tutorials We’ve been making great progress on our downstairs makeover ! Phase 1 & 2 were refinishing our kitchen countertops and painting the cupboards. It has been an exhausting process but I am loving it! My kitchen wasn’t bad to begin with, but now that I compare the before and mid-way (the after will come once we’ve painted the walls and installed new flooring), the before suddenly looks much less attractive. I am LOVING my new countertops!

I'm notably pleased with the outcome of this piece. Its soothing color pallet and modern shape are sweet to the eye. Here's all the details.. Golden Geometric Necklace Supplies: paint chips (1-3 different colors schemes), necklace chain, and matching jewelry hooks. Pantry Supplies: scissors, jewelry pliers, and needle or sewing pin.

t-shirt latch hook rug tutorial

http://xoelle.com/2009/05/t-shirt-latch-hook-rug-tutorial/ I really love flokati rugs. I have two that are safely tucked away in my parents basement awaiting our reunion. When I learned that I would be having a child and building a nursery for him, I wanted a flokati. A gray one. Being a flokati snob though, I knew that I couldn’t afford the price tag ( ), and I knew that I would be too precious about the rug ( ).

megan nielsen design diary - DIY beaded scallop edge detachable collar (with pattern)

As promised a few weeks ago , I’ve put together a pattern and some instructions for how you can create your own beaded scallop edge detachable collar (phew that’s a mouthful!!) I honestly love this collar sooo much, and have not stopped wearing it since I made it – but, that being said, it is definitely a project requiring some time and commitment. It took me almost 12 hours to do all the beading – so just keep that in mind before you start. http://blog.megannielsen.com/2011/11/diy-beaded-scallop-edge-detachable-collar-with-pattern/

DIY: Friendship Bracelet chevron rug

You know how friendship bracelets are totally back? Well, I can't quite bring myself to get into it after 15 years but I love the bright colors, the patterns, the idea of it....It got me thinking where else I could apply the process and I thought it'd be fun to make a huge friendship bracelet that you could walk on. You know, given my love of all things oversized.

Studs are showing up on everything this fall, so I thought it would be fun to add a few studs to the back of some ballet flats. By adding just a few, they are still simple in the front, but fun in the back. Plus, you can't go wrong with navy and gold, it's such a classic combination. I got my studs from here and used the Gold 7mm ones.
I had so much fun making this next project! I tend to grab mason jars from garage sales and thrift stores whenever I can find them (today I actually snagged a turquoise one!). They have so many uses, from baking to crafts projects . This weekend I turned a few of my mason jars into snow globes for Christmas!

Make a Perpetual Button Calendar for 2011 (and Beyond)

<img alt="" src="http://makezineblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/perpetual_calendar_final.jpg?w=629&#038;h=491" width="629" height="491" class="mt-image-none" style="" /> By Diane Gilleland I know calendars (and clocks and address books) are quickly becoming computer-centric tools, but I like the old-school charm of this desk calendar.
