Spectacular TARDIS fridge probably isn't bigger on the inside. But think of all the food you could fit inside!
This fantastic fridge lives in the home of a pair of glass sculptors — Joy Alyssa Day and BJ Johnson (who made this breath-taking blown-glass orrery) — in Central California. (Credit: BJ Johnson) It's not built from scratch; it's a French-door fridge wearing an 11th doctor TARDIS skin (or the first doctor), with the police call box sign placed artfully over the ice door (and bearing a little wordplay). Can social media predict American Idol winner? MANILA, Philippines - Is social media the new exit poll?
Could the online buzz and virtual fan base of the last two remaining bets for this year's American Idol predict the winner? While Filipinos all over are rooting for 16-year-old Jessica Sanchez who has Filipino roots, her chances against Philip Phillips who fits the usual white-man-with-guitar profile of past winners may be tested against this new crystal ball.
After all, the success of predicting the influence of social media on contests of many forms has increased over the years since more people are now online (hence an increase in true representation) as well as improvements in the algorithms themselves. Businesses, economists, stock traders and political consultants have been feverishly divining trends on social media over the past years to try and find correlations between numbers and actual results. Just recently, an article appeared that spoke of Twitter sentiment as it related to Facebook’s IPO price. Twitter and Facebook. YUI-Lover: The 1st YUI Forum & Fansite. Which new superhero will join Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers 2? Which new superhero will join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers 2?
I'm going to trust that Whedon is smart enough to know that The Scarlet Witch does not translate to movie audiences or storylines well at all, and that he won't do anything so lame as to try and shoehorn her in. (Not to even get into her backstory and history, oy.) The Wasp on the other hand, would be great for several reason. It would undoubtedly bring Ant-Man (though I think they should stick with him as Giant Man) in, and Pym being involved sets up Avengers 2 (or 3) to be about Ultron, which is easily one of the most translatable Avengers comic book stories for the filmgoing audience.
Mad robot is easily digested and requires almost zero foreknowledge, with wide appeal. Ms. All I ask if they make the smart move and bring onboard the Wasp and Hank Pym is that they don't cast Lucy Liu as Janet. What we need is a post with casting suggestions for Wasp, Giant-Man, voice of Ultron, and the Vision. The Smiley Book of Colors. By Maria Popova When Freud came to believe he was going to die between the ages of 61 and 62, and subsequently began seeing the two numbers everywhere he looked, which only intensifying the urgency of his superstition, he came to observe the value of selective attention in focusing the unconscious.
But what if we engineered this selective attention purposefully and aligned it with our emotional and mental well-being? That’s exactly what photographer, children’s author, and educator Ruth Kaiser did in 2008, when she began seeing smiley faces everywhere she turned. For the past four years, she has been collecting and sharing photographs “found” everyday smileys in the Spontaneous Smiley Project — an exercise in self-induced feel-goodness, inviting others to upload their own photos and donating $1 for each uploaded photo to Operation Smile, which provides free surgeries to children born with cleft lip and cleft palate.

Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. Coolest. Loft. Ever. [40 pics] Photograph via Rob Levy & Steve Wu It’s a bold statement I know. What constitutes the “Coolest. Ever.”? When you’re talking loft spaces, high ceilings is a must…. 30 ft… check. It also needs something unique, something memorable, so when you tell your friends about the “coolest loft ever” one line is all it takes, “There’s a basketball court in the living room, right beside the 18-foot Ficus tree” Yeah that should do.
Photograph via Rob Levy & Steve Wu Built by the owner in the early 2000s with consultation by the Martin Building Company, the 4,400 square foot (408 sq m) live/work space was listed on April 15, 2011 for $3.1 million.
