[solved] G560 (snd-hda-intel Conexant CX20585) headphone jack ... (Page 1) / Kernel & Hardware / Arch Linux Forums - Iceweasel. I bought a Lenovo G560 laptop a few days ago and I've been struggling to get sound working properly. $ lspci | grep Audio 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 05) 01:00.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1) The internal speaker is working but headphone jack isn't.
I was able to get both playing at the same time using different model=xxx settings (no jack sense though), but suddenly (after upgrading to 2.6.35 I believe) only internal speaker works no matter what settings I load snd-hda-intel with.I've tried running alsaconf several times. The necessary modules seems to be loaded: I've unmuted every possible channel in alsamixer (I only hae master and PCM), turned volume up and down and tried unplugging jack and plugging it in again.I've also tried installing aur/alsa-driver.hda-intel.hda-codec-realtek-git 1.0.23.67-1 which only led to my card not being detected at all. Sound problems, skype works but vlc, mplayer fail (Page 1) / Other Architectures / Arch Linux Forums - Iceweasel. Not sure whether this issue is 64-bit specific, but I am on a 64 bit system with extra/alsa-lib 1.0.23-1 and community/lib32-alsa-lib 1.0.23-2 installed.
When I run vlc, it produces no sound. On startup I get this error: Potential ALSA version problem: VLC failed to initialize your sound output device (if any). Debian HCL - ASUS - Iceweasel.
