Enquête Foursquare 2011. Better access to your content is, well, better - Google Places Blog. Google Places makes it quick and easy for you to tell your friends, and the world, what you think about the places you visit. And since your reviews are your reviews, we figured giving you access to all this content in one convenient way might be helpful. Now, when you visit your profile on Google Places (to find it, click on your picture in the upper left of the screen), you’ll find a link along the left that points to an Atom feed of all the place ratings and reviews you’ve created on Google. The feed address is known only to you, but you are free to share it however you want. So, go on, enjoy your data. In addition to taking your Google Places ratings and reviews with you, we also thought it’d be useful if you could more easily rate and review on Google the places you’ve found elsewhere in your travels or on the web.

To do that, just find the URL of a public GeoRSS/Atom feed that contains place information you care about. CDG Terminal 2F :: Le Mesnil-Amelot, Ile-de-France. Happy birthday, foursquare. It was exactly a year ago when Naveen and I flipped the switch on foursquare. It was the day before we headed down to SXSW - back when we were still feeling 50/50 on whether people would think the “let’s turn real life into a game!”

Idea was really interesting or whether they’d laugh us out of Austin. We took separate flights. I remember walking down the tarmac into the plane still on my laptop fixing the database. Naveen landed in Austin and texted me something along the lines of “its still alive!”. And so here we are one year later. Over 500,000 users Over 1,000,000 badges have been awardedOver 1.4 million venues with 1200 offering specialsOver 15.5 million checkins … and last Friday we had our biggest day ever, weighing in at 275,000 checkins over the course of the day. And here we are again.

I can’t tell you how psyched we are to see you all again in Austin this weekend. See you in Austin, -team foursquare ps: Party on Monday (w/ Brizzly & Katalyst). 8pm @ Cedar Street Tavern. Foursquare Exceeds 40 Million Checkins. Location-based social network Foursquare counted its 40 millionth checkin a "couple days ago," according to a tweet from one of its developers. The number shows that Foursquare's growth rate is accelerating: Five weeks ago, the company announced that the total number of checkins had reached 22 million.

In short: Foursquare appears to have doubled its checkin rate in just over a month. It's just over two weeks, meanwhile, since Foursquare hit the million user mark. What's more, recent acquisition rumors have driven Foursquare hype to new levels. But Foursquare may soon face a new challenger. Facebook is launching its location features this month.
