Literature. The true progenitor of Arduin. . It's to Hargrave's original Arduin trilogy what Basic D&D is to the Little Beige Books of OD&D. While charming, I find it much less useful than Hargrave's earlier work, which is crazy-go-nuts awesome. I really dig two things about though. The first is the character sheet. It's a stock boxy charsheet typical of the era, jam-packed with game data of various sorts. The other thing I like about this book is chapter XV, the bibliography. Overview of the series Exordium is a series consisting of five books published by Tor Books. The best place to learn about the plot of the series is through the back cover blurbs, which are recreated at the Exordium webpage maintained by Dave Trowbridge. I rank this series with some of my all-time favorites, such as McDevitt's A Talent for War, Wren's The Phoenix Legacy, Downbelow Station and the rest of Cherryh's Alliance/Union books, and Glen Cook's The Dragon Never Sleeps.

I do have a minor word of warning: It takes about a hundred pages or so to "get into" the story. The Universe of Exordium Warships in the Exordium universe. Opening paragraphs of recent PODs that yielded an abbreviated read. So many folks have asked me how bad a book must be to only read one sentence or paragraph before closing it (generated by my 2005 stats).

Well, I went back and found as many as I could recall (and a bunch of new ones for 2006). These authors did not read Noah Lukeman's THE FIRST FIVE PAGES. I figure the best thing I can do is let you judge for yourself. I'd comment on why these are so horrid, but I could never do the kind of justice that Miss Snark has done for the literary community; she's hit the nail on the head enough times to have finished off a mountain retreat. You've been warned. Everyone loved Colleen, including me. Cordwainer Smith and His Remarkable Science Fiction. Ebook,1,ebook,free,download - kebook.com. And Link’s work seems a great place to start.” “Pity the poor librarians who have to slap a sticker on Kelly Link’s genre-bending, mind-blowing masterpiece of the imagination, Stranger Things Happen.” Contents Comments. Fitzwilliam Museum. Slacktivist: L.B.: A Less Graphic Experience. My thanks to everyone who tipped me off to the upcoming release of Left Behind: The Video Game , which seems like such a horrible idea that I'm tempted to say it's a sign of the End Times. Potentially much worse: the Left Behind Games site features a photo of their CEO posing with Mel Gibson and praising his film, The Passion of the Christ.

Why is Mel talking with video game designers about that movie? ( Dude, once you get to level 10 with Simon of Cyrene you can just mow down those centurions with the BFG 9000! ) Please, no. The standard reporting on the Left Behind game's upcoming release had me pounding my head against the wall. Take the following from MSNBC : Authors Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have written more than a dozen novels for the series, which is based on prophecies from the Bible's Book of Revelation. This is the boilerplate phrase reporters always use to summarize these books. That's not "prophecies from the Bible's Book of Revelation. " See? But come now!
