FOR SALE. Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Complete Lens Database. I have the three M50's (1.4,1.7,2) but I wanted an auto-focusing lens in similar focal range. Pictures taken with the DA40 and posted by users on the web are often not inviting, so I was hesitating at buying this lens. But at some point, I decided to go for it and here are my remarks. Sharpness: this lens is sharp enough wide open. This might not be very surprising at f2.8 at the center of the image, but quite remarkable for extending to the border of the frame.
It gets super sharp at f5.6. The lens shows some PF in middle day scenes with very strong contrast (ex: on metallic color painted cars). The bokeh is usually good but can sometimes be busy and the discs might appear outlined, which is the reason for the 9/10. Autofocus on the K5 is very fast. Except for the funny/annoying lens cap, handling is nice. So I would say this lens will be your great companion. LEICA Lenses. Introduction top The LEICA TELE-ELMARIT-M 90mm f/2.8 is LEICA's purest long lens. Purest means truest to Oskar Barnack's vision for the LEICA. LEICA's current 90mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH is better optically in some ways that few people will ever notice, but it weighs twice as much.
LeicaLenses serial number and production year - Leica Objektiv Serienummer. If you have a serial number of a Leica lens, this list will tell you when it was produced (1933-2004). This list covers lenses from the Leica R series (SLR), the Leica M and the screw mount series (Rangefinder). Read the number off the lens and identify the production year from the list below. If you also wish to determine which model or generation you have of that particular vintage Elmar, Elmarit, Summicron ... or perhaps which hood is designed for your particular leica lens - then look at the pointers at the bottom of this page. Please let me know it you have knowledge of errors or more recent numbers. Although the year of production is interesting, it is not always sufficient information.
