In memory of George Brook-Kothlow September 24, 2012 at 4:51 pm My father in law was a special and talented man, his name is George Brook-Kothlow and he passed two weeks ago after a year of battling cancer. He was 77. If you’ve read the Venice Chronicles you know a little bit about George … and I’d like to tell you a little more about him. George was a great architect, an artist through and true. He lived and worked in Carmel Valley. George also loved Cars and Tennis, I appreciated and bonded with him on both of those passions.

He was also an incurable optimist, there never was a problem that mattered enough to worry him. George I am so happy you were part of my life, we will be thinking of you … always. Bit of a big week January 23, 2012 at 12:43 pm Bit of an exciting week for me, I’m trying to be present and enjoy these rather special times. I leave you with a photo of the advance copy of the La Luna storybook I received a few days ago. Buon Natale December 22, 2011 at 5:47 pm. Doug TenNapel. Meanwhile Studios. Rover. Gagne. Bolt City. This blog is devoted to going through the archives of the entire run of Peanuts, as presented on comics.com, from the earliest days to the end, and picking out interesting, memorable, historic, and above all funny strips. Thanks to evilcolonel, via this Metafilter thread, for tipping me off to comics.com's presentation of Peanuts' run. To avoid rights encumberances, the strips are not inlined but linked to the relevant pages of Comics.com.

Honestly I find their ads annoying (they use pop-up ads in addition to filling their pages with additional banners and flash ads, and until recently demanded pay registration to see archives), but it is legal, can be mitigated by using a good browser, and by doing it this way I should avoid copyright problems. To try to put a happy face on the situation, it also provides for an element of suspense before loading the linked-to strip.

EDIT: We've been inlining them for a while now, using comics.com's helpful embed code. Thanks guys! Boneville. Strangers In Paradise. Hellboy.com. Thieves & Kings. Finder.
