The Virtual MPhil | Conquering Complexity and Complexity Science. Contact: Jeffrey Johnson (j.h.johnson ‘at’ open.ac.uk) The credit crunch, climate change, pandemic flu, security, and the internet show that the world has become increasingly complex and that we need ways to understand, design and manage complex systems. In partnership with the international Complex Systems Society and other European universities, this programme teaches the basics of complex systems science and encourages students to re-interpret and find new kinds of solutions to the problems of their organisations. You will join an extensive worldwide network of complex systems scientists and students with expertise across the social and physical sciences, including applications in business, industry, management, public administration, economics, medicine, engineering, urban and environmental planning, art and creativity, and design.
