The Mudflats| Tiptoeing Through the Muck of Alaskan Politics
William De Witt Snodgrass (1926-2009) was a Pulitzer-winning American poet. Known for his confessional style, this long poem is probably his best known, and was written in honor of his daughter, from whom he was often separated following his divorce from her mother. It’s long, but worth the read. When Suibhe would not return to fine garments and good food, to his houses and his people, Loingseachan told him, “Your father is dead.”
