When you search Google, and click on a link, your search term is sent to that site, along with your browser & computer info, which can often uniquely identify you . That's creepy, but who cares about some random site? Those sites usually have third-party ads, and those third-parties build profiles about you, and that's why those ads follow you everywhere. That's creepy too, but who cares about some herpes ads?

Google tracks you. We don't. An illustrated guide.

A Firefox add-on to opt-out of ad networks. Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out (TACO) is a Firefox plugin that jumped the shark. In 3.0 they introduced new features, and a bunch of fancy gui stuff to match it. http://jmhobbs.github.com/beef-taco/

Beef Taco

Firefox

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/beef-taco-targeted-advertising/ There is a race condition on shutdown which can lock up Firefox if both Taco and Beef Taco are installed. For the time being, do not have both of these installed at the same time. Beef Taco is not a complete anti-advertising toolkit. Please consider using multiple add-ons for more robust privacy protection. Some of my favorites are: TrackerBlock, BetterPrivacy, NoScript, Flashblock and Ghostery*.
http://adsweep.org/ This is just an idea that popped into my head, and this blog needs more content. Has this ever happened to you? You just bought or downloaded a relatively old game, or perhaps you’re just returning to a game you played ages ago. Now, there are always people willing to play. However, to play a multiplayer game, you need servers. And that’s precisely the thing old games lack.
