How Can Microsoft Skype Support Student Work? Educators are spoiled. As one amazing digital tool after another is introduced and improved, we continue to want more enhancements. So, don’t blame us for wanting Microsoft to improve Skype to further support student collaboration, problem-solving, and learning. Imagine students and teachers chatting with one another while jointly analyzing or creating a document. The document is displayed alongside live video feed with collaborators in multiple locations. One student makes a text-based reference to illustrate a point while highlighting the cited text so others may easily focus on it. Another student writes a note on the margin of the document to emphasize a point. One participant, with approval from a facilitator, displays a video.

Web-based videoconferencing systems such as Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate and Wimba), Adobe Connect, and iVisit each offers many or all of these capabilities. #Microsoft in Education Webcasts : Existing customers: Learn how to deploy Microsoft Live@edu : About | Microsoftedtoolsandappsby@web20education. Meet the Innovative Teachers Coming to Moscow–part 2 - Teaching Ideas and Resources - Site Home - MSDN Blogs. Teaching Ideas and Resources. I was recently lucky enough to be invited to attend the Microsoft in Education Global Forum held in Barcelona. This annual event aims to recognize and celebrate the achievements of educators who are preparing students for life in the 21st century. Each year, Microsoft brings together participants from the Microsoft Innovative Educators Program and the Microsoft Innovative Schools Program for an energetic, collaborative conference.

This high profile event is attended by more than 1000 of the world’s most innovative educators, school leaders, and education leaders from 75 countries, along with government officials. Rather than provide a day-by-day account of the Global Forum, for this you can check out the excellent blogs from other expert educators (David Rogers, David Renton, Nikki Cooper & Ray Chambers) I would however, like to reflect on what I have learnt as a result of attending the global forum and emphasize some of the key points and highlights of the whole experience.
