I’ve been on somewhat of a GPK kick as of late so I figured we’d finish things out with a look at some commissioned fan art by a bonafide GPK alum, Luis Diaz.
With a career that includes clients like IDW Publishing, The Topps Company, The Village Voice, and the World Wrestling Entertainment Diaz has made a name for himself as an artist who loves to turn things inside out, upside down and generally every which way until they become more conceptual than literal. His latest series, Creatura, in which he takes classic movie monsters and distorts them into oblivion is proof enough of that. For today, though, I wanted to highlight a series of commissioned GPK painted sketch cards that Diaz last year in which some of my favorite 80s icons like The Goonies, Back to the Future and Evil Dead received some geek-worthy mash-ups.
