News The FreedomBox Hackfest at Columbia University was a huge success. We hosted 25 people of diverse talents and interests. Some folks came to learn, acquire DreamPlugs and do a guided install of Bdale Garbee's FreedomMaker.

Update, 6pm Mar 28: we have spoken with BIS this morning, and they have confirmed that, given the volumes involved and the demographic mix of likely users, any development board exemption is not applicable to us; as a result, even the first uncased developer units of Raspberry Pi will require a CE mark prior to sale in the EU. As we mention below, we are working with RS Components and element14/Premier Farnell to bring Raspberry Pi into a compliant state as soon as is humanly possible.

Un Fab Lab est un LABoratoire de FABrication où toute personne, quelque soit son niveau de connaissance, peut venir expérimenter, apprendre ou fabriquer par elle-même tous types d'objets (prototype technique, meuble, objet artistique ou design, objet interactif, etc...). Pour cela chaque membre peut venir utiliser les différentes machines du Fab Lab, apprendre des autres membres ou participer aux différents projets collectifs. Le Fab Lab Toulouse est porté par l'association Artilect et est relié au réseau international Fab Lab du MIT . ( Liste des Fab Labs membres du réseau MIT. ) Mission : les fab labs sont un réseau mondial de laboratoires locaux, qui rendent possible l’invention en donnant aux individus accès à des outils de fabrication numérique.

Le festival annuel du Tetalab a lieu du 25 au 27 mai 2012 à Toulouse à Mix’art Myrys; troisième édition essentielle pour tous les « makers ». La programmation sur le site de Mix’art Myrys et bientôt sur le site dédié du THSF . Comme chaque année, on y participe très activement, on aimerait beaucoup vous y rencontrer sur nos ateliers ou autour d’une bière. Zigduino c’est un Arduino, un shield Wireless, un module XBee et une antenne tout en un au format Arduino; très intéressant pour des montages mobiles et compacts du genre du Zigroller .
