First, a bit of history about this talented lady. Jan once had a little shop in the 90′s in New York City’s east village also under her name. About her store she told me, “It was quaint with unique decorative pieces for the home and garden and became a creative outlet for me.” So now that you have some history, let’s talk to Jan about her work.
Holly: Why did you decide to decorate for a living? Jan: I am a self taught designer and at a young age I always loved and appreciated beautiful things. Holly: I also noticed that in addition to decorating, you are also an artist. Holly: Who has influenced your work? As we always aim to please (never giving up until we reach perfection) our search was successfully over when we came across the Delfin & Postigo house. This project is the epitome of our vision and we are proud to present it as our first residential project of this year. Wishing you a Yatzer New Year2010 will be a year to remember.. full of surprises // Just TRUST us !... Are you ready? Sexy, Sex, Kinky, Nudity, S&M, Naked, Truth, No Boundaries, Raw, Simplicity. Their residence may be perceived as offensive or censored to certain ages by some, but to us it is honest and artistic. The pure white floor and walls express a naiveté and purity which control the dynamism of the artworks. These quirks exist throughout the residence with a prime example being the dining chairs.

These are the best ones I know:Matador, lots of colourful clothes in soft cotton from mostly Danish brands like Molo, Ej sikke lej, Silke og Sus and Katvig. Matador Under, handpicked retro clothes and toys from the sixties and seventies, along with brand new stuff from young indie designers. UNI, unisex clothing in strong colours and cool patterns with inspiration from the seventies.
Haven, great clothes and small interior details for both you and your baby. Birka Baby, your baby will be the most fashionable and streetcool kid on the block dressed in their clothes! Numero, a small toy store on Katarina Bangata 33, full of great stuff in all price ranges. Kalikå, plush animals and real tools and kitchen stuff in miniature versions, free from stuffy old thoughts on gender roles.

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but underneath the lofts where I live, as well as in the original building beside me, they're opening up a number of new stores i'm pretty excited about. Vincenzo's - an italian grocer/café/flower/butcher shop is finally starting to set up, which will be so handy to pop into right after work.
An art gallery, card shop, baby store and spa are going in for sure... and there's still a few unknown spaces in construction. But, one of the best is a brand new restaurant which I caught a sneak peek of today! Dark woods and leather banquettes are being installed and i'm super excited for it to be up and running.
