User retention
I've previously written a lot about metrics and user acquisition - just look at the left bar of this blog - but have not written much about metrics and user retention.
Virality limited by retention
Previously, I discussed how you can mathematically model the viral acquisition process, particularly as you hit the network saturation point. However, while the model shows a growth curve for cumulative users, it doesn't take into account how retention metrics fit in.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Fascinating study in the Harvard Business Review about twitter . It looks at 300,000 users and covers differences in behavior between men and women, # of followers and # following. But most interestingly, it looks at usage:
